Don't forget Georgia's Fascist "Ad Valorum" tax on your car registration. Having your tag renewal fee based on the value of your car is total BS! Punishing someone every year for owning an expensive car is not justifiable in any way. A car is a car and one that is 100K doesn't cause a bigger burden on the streets than a 20K one. You already took the expensive car hit in State Sales Tax when you bought it. That should be enough. I was paying about $650 per year to renew the Elise's plate. Compare that to, say, FL where it's about $40 no matter what your car is. Thank goodness I just moved to WA which doesn't have that Ad Valorum either.
