I don't have the affadavits with me but each signed customer waiting for a 2-Eleven was required to sign that he/she was aware that the 2-Eleven was not street legal and for race track use only. The car was not to be registered in any state and that if it was, the 2-Eleven owner would be held as the manufacturer of the vehicle and liable and punishable as the manufacturer would be if they were to do the same. Deep down I think someone in the Feds knows that early non-Federalized Elises were registered in various states as Europas, Elans, 7's, etc. In order to avoid similar situations, they've gone overboard for 34 cars! If the US 2-Eleven were available with headlights as are the European models and there were thousands of them being imported, they might have a point. Otherwise..... They won't be satisfied until they can take total control of our lives.
