In my 2005 Lotus Elise with no modifications I got to 125 mph on the banked front straight of the Texas World Speedway counterclockwise. I heard that by going clockwise at TWS you can get to higher speeds. I am still pretty new at this, so more experienced drivers will be able to go faster. I used to brake into turn 1 coming off of the banked stright, which knocked off some of my speed. I’ve corrected that to where I don't brake or lift off the throttle into 1. TWS isn’t kind to my Elise because of its lower HP(190). My car does better at tracks like MSR Houston because it does not have long straights. That being said, I am planning to attend Texas Motor Speedway’s night event this summer just for the fun of the speed. I heard that TMS is supposed to be a faster track than TWS. As for corner speeds, I really don’t look down at the speedometer on corners.
Can anyone tell me how fast are some of the other banked tracks are in the USA for Loti, such as Homestead Miami, California Speedway, Daytona, and Pocono? Thanks.
