It can go both ways. For instance, your shots all have something compositionally interesting behind them. Yes, the garage doors behind the Elise in dfa's shot add to the photograph, but they could've still been used in the picture with the Lotus in the foreground. To me, it seems awkward with the Lotus so far back in the field. Maybe it's just me.
