Lotus Challenge Series in Texas

We are in the planning stages of 2010 and would like to expand the series to Texas. I have had many of you ask when we are starting and we attempted to hold an event last month in Houston. Fortunately we cancelled the event since I heard that it rained tigers and elephants that day.
Well I am back to attempt this again with 6 events for 2010. My initial reaction to last months poor sign ups was due to holding it on a Thursday. If weekend's only work then we have probably have to share the day with other clubs and or mixing up the run groups with other cars.
The lotus challenge series uniqueness is to have lotus cars only on track. If we are able to have 23 participants then we can a lotus only event any less then that we would not have the event. In addition, the facilities are just as important . Several of you mentioned a track( cannot remember) outside of Houston that had no facilities , this track would have no appeal to the series. We want to expose the drivers to quality venues will have a lasting impression on your experience with the series.
Also note that we have added two new classes for 2010 . A true spec class and a novice class.
The spec class will be a N/A elise or exige setup. The novice class will allow all lotus cars in that class and it is based on the the drivers experience level.

Let me know you're you would like us to go or not . Thanks, Jim

Just a quick reminder that the San Antonio area British Car Clubs are hosting the All British Car Day Car Show in Boerne on Saturday, from 10 AM - 2 PM. There is a class for Lotus cars and trophies will be awarded for the top cars in our class.

The entry is $20 for advance registration or $25 on the day of the show. A link to the registration form is included below. The show will be held at the City Park across from Ye Kendall Inn. This is a scenic spot and good shopping and restaurants are located in close proximity, so no reason not to come out and bring your better half or significant other - but most importantly, bring your Lotus.

The weather forecast is good, so we should be blessed with a great day for a car show and get together. Hope to see you all there, with a great showing in the Lotus class.
