Attention All Orlando/Central Florida Members

Are there any Orlando/Central Florida Members on here that would be interested in doing gatherings and runs/rallies in the future with other exotic and high end sports cars? If so, keep reading!

*WHO AM I?*
I am a huge car enthusiast that is new to Central Florida from the Northeast. It doesn't take a genius to realize that Florida has an amazing amount of exotic and high end sports cars rolling around. The problem is, I have yet to find a group of guys that are willing to get out and enjoy their cars for what they were made for; to be driven! When I was living in New Jersey, I coordinated and participated in numerous events in which large numbers of exotic and high end sports cars would gather, and then enjoy spirited drives to various destinations. Here are a few videos of events that I coordinated in the past:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elF4V1YLq8Y

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBt-dgOFgdc&feature=related

*WHAT IS THE GOAL?*
My goal is to organize events just like in the videos above. A typical event is comprised of a "meet and greet" at the starting point, a 50-100 mile cruise, and then arrival at a destination. The destinations vary from event to event. Sometimes a destination would be a restaurant for a nice lunch, or other times a destination would be a racetrack or go-karting track for all of the participants to put their driving skills to the test in a fun and safe environment. The events that I organize usually have some sort of a cause. In the past, I have put together events benefiting Toys for Tots and St. Jude Children's Hospital, as well as some other "just for fun" events.

*WHERE WILL THESE EVENTS TAKE PLACE?*
These events will mostly be coordinated throughout Central Florida and surrounding areas. For example, an event may have a starting point in Orlando and a destination in Melbourne.
*
WHEN WILL THESE EVENTS TAKE PLACE?*
Ideally, I would love to organize my first large event soon after the holidays and the new year. Some smaller, impromptu events may take place before then, but larger events usually require at least a months time in planning. With the holidays right around the corner, attendance may be difficult for many. With that in mind, I am setting my goal on the first large event to be in early to mid January. Not only would this give sufficient time to properly plan and execute the event, but it would also be a great way to kick off the new year.

*HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?*
This is the easy part. I am compiling a list of contacts for these events. All you have to do is send me a PM or an email with your name, phone number, email address, what you drive, and what town/area you live in.

Remember, the goal here is to organize events with exotics and other sports cars. Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Vipers, Corvettes, Porsches, Aston Martins, Lotus', GTRs, and M-Series BMW's are all welcomed. If you have a car that isn't listed above or you aren't sure if your car will qualify, feel free to ask. The events are not limited solely to the cars listed above, those are just a variety of examples of the types of cars we are looking to organize.

If anyone has any other questions, feel free to PM or email me. I hope to hear from many of you and I am looking forward to coordinating some exciting events!

Lotus of Tampa Bay is sponsoring a Lotus Run on Sunday December 13th at 9:30 AM for the Toys for Tots program benefiting children on behalf of the United States Marine Corp. We will be taking a caravan of Loti to the Marine barracks in Tampa from our dealership and depositing the toys. We will meet at the dealership and provide catered breakfast then run to the barracks. Bring as many donated toys as you can. We will provide a trailer for extras and donations will be accepted at our dealership leading up to the run. Also if you would like to place donation box at your work place contact us.

This a great charity for the kids that is run by the Marines. Let's give something back! :nanner:

Let me know who would like to participate. More details to follow.

Circuit Motorsports Invites You To Our Central FL / Gainesville Trackday!

I am posting this for Circuit Motorsports, they posted a track day for ALL local enthusiasts on a few different forums.

I have posted up trackdays here before and had a few local members showed up. Gaineville is the PERFECT track for an elise. :D

Just email CMS directly with questions or to sign up.

Here is the original post: Circuit Motorsports Invites You To Our Central FL / Gainesville Trackday! - NASIOC (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1882222)

The post:

Circuit Motorsports is putting on a Track Day at the Gainesville Raceway Roadcourse. The date that has been set and reserved for *Saturday December 5th, from 9am-5pm*. There are 19 total slots available, we have capped the number of drivers to 20, to keep costs down and allow for each driver to get maximum seat time. Last trackday we had almost an hour left of track time but everyone was too tired, you get your money's worth!

It is an open trackday, which means we have the track all to ourselves from 9-5. *8 full hours of track time for 20 people*, which equates to roughly 90 minutes of seat time per person. This is based on having 4 people on track at a time, running about 15 minute sessions. This has worked out very well in the past and everyone had more than enough time on the track. We keep it very casual and relaxed, not set run groups. Just line up in the pit lane when you want to run, and when there is an opening the safety steward will let you on the track. You can run as many laps at a time as you'd like, but to be courteous, try to keep it around 15 minutes each time (session). This will allow everyone to get out there and more importantly will allow your car (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/#) and yourself to cool down and recharge.

I have posted the track layout below. The red line and arrows indicates the course layout we will be following. The dark blue line indicates the pit lane where cars will line up to get pointed onto the track. The light blue line indicates where you can park your car when you are taking a break/waiting. The yellow arrows indicate the pit lane exit onto the raceway and the pit lane entrance off of the raceway. The grass to either side of pit lane will be where you can setup chairs, tents, cooler, tarps, tools and relax.

Keeping the pits in the middle also allows us to have fun and watch, as pitting on the south-west side puts the trees in the way of the track, and doesn't make it very fun to watch when not driving. We have never had any safety issues in the past pitting in the middle, and we hope to keep it that way. We ask everyone to drive safely and within their limits, it's not a timed event, so just have fun!

The track will have insurance paid for the day and we will have EMTs on site, just in case. There will be safety stewards and workers out there to make sure everyone is operating safely. You are welcome to bring a small tarp or tent to stay shaded and I would highly recommend bringing some snacks, beverages and lunch. As there are no concessions on site and the closest restaurant is quite a good distance away. Since we are using the center of the track as our pits you must get there before the running starts at 9AM, otherwise you will have to wait for the cars to stop before being allowed on track. There will be no leaving or entering the track/pits when the track is "hot" (cars running).

You must wear a shirt, long pants, closed toe shoes and have a Snell rated helmet to drive. Also make sure your car is in good runing condition and would pass a safety tech inspection. No passengers will be allowed in vehicle on the track. The general rule is that you go 4 wheels off 3 times and you're done for the day. This is to keep it safe for the other drivers out there. You are welcome to bring any friends who want to attend, they can stay in the pits or within a safe area for pictures.

*Cost for the full trackday is $150*. Simply email us and give your full name, type of car and if anyone will be accompanying you. I will provide payment information if a slot is available, paypal is preferred. If we get over the 20 quota I will start a standby list. You can contact us at sales@circuitmotorsports.net

There are only 3 weeks until Dec. 5th, So hurry up and get your spot!

Greetings from the Virgin Islands,
I will be in Orlando Nov. 12-16 visiting son in school.
I’d like to meet some Lotus owners and shoot the s_it.
I own a 05 Elise and it’s the only one down here so no one to discuss the cars with.
Give a shout if anyone is interested.

The Performance Workshop (http://fullautomotorsports.com/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=60&Itemid=53)
*"The Performance Workshop"*

The short:

- *1 GRIP course*, *1 DRIFT course*, _and the option to participate in both_
- More track time than you or your car will be able to withstand
- Local to Tampa Bay
- Insane dollar per run ratio
- 3rd gear entry on the drift side, *high speed and high G's on the grip side*
- Professionally outlined course layouts
- Experienced RACERS on-hand for advice and ride-alongs
- *Lots of FREE stuff*, including karting the night before and a special something to the first 10 registrees!
- It's Awesome!
- Full Auto (fullautomsport) on Twitter (http://www.Twitter.com/fullautomsport)

Check out the "Dynamic Courses" page at the bottom of the link. Don't be fooled, this event is definitely more expensive than the average autocross or drift day, but it is MUCH more comprehensive.

I don't think i've seen anything like this before!

I've already pre-registered! LOL

Seeya there!
