Just FYI, Capital Driving Club is having their last event this weekend in Frederick, MD. Saturday is an autocross and Sunday is a "Test 'n Tune" which is basically an autocross without points (typically you get more runs as it is less crowded). I'm gonna be up there both days and it looks like there's another elise showing up on Sunday. I'd love to meet some of you guys and see you out there on the track. Plus, weather is looking decent as well.

Registration is on the website: Capital Driving Club (http://www.capitaldrivingclub.com/)

I survived!!! Thankfully, the damage was minor (roof shingles & brick skirt). This November Nor'easter storm was worse than Hurricane Isabel back in 2003. Four days of 7.5+ foot high tides and nearly a foot of rain. About half that time, my property was under water; saw 3 foot of water around the house and 5 foot at the waters edge & street. I did a lot of kayaking, and even paddled up the river Friday Morning with 35-40 mph sustained winds. Not the smartest thing to do, but as former kayak instructor, I've paddled in much worse conditions, and it’s not very often when I can ride waves one hundred yards from my back door. Today the weather was perfect, so I went for a Lotus ride in the country after retruning all my toys back home. (Camper, SUV, Jet-boat, and the orange LOTUS). I stored them up the road on higher ground before the peak Tides hit.

PS. I do not have a garage here at my house, only a couple of crappy sheds that fell apart during the storm. I can report just about everything I had in them either floated away or was destroyed by the time the storm was over. Now I know why I pay flood insurance to live 32 foot from the River.

Va St. Rt. 619! Fun run in the next month or so?

Hey all, I was driving up from a lecture at UVA this week and in order to avoid bad traffic I took Rt. 619 that ends (or starts) in Triangle off of 95. WOW! What A great driving road, I wished I was in the STI instead of my Outback.

Great tight turns, lots of twisties, elevation changes and not too many cars.

I haven't hung out with you all in a while (11 week old on our hands, adorable, but lots of work obviously), and I think I can get away for a morning some weekend to do this drive with you all.

Our drive can end in Triangle, but we need to find other good roads to lead us to 619.

Thoughts? Takers? Bueller?

Cheers,
N

Worst part of the storm is next high tide around 5:00pm today. Water will be up another 5 inches. Six kayaks (mine) are bobbing like corks in the back. Living on the water (Elizabeth River) can have its downside.

Greetings,
I was at Ferrari of Washington a couple of days ago, and one of the salesmen told me there is an exotic car meetup on Saturday mornings in Great Falls, VA. 7:30am - 9:30aam, at Katie's Coffee House, 760 Walker Road
Great Falls, VA 22066

I don't know about tomorrow, since the weather is supposed to be crap, but has anyone been? It would certainly be a nice early morning drive from Alexandria, via the GW Parkway and Rt193, Georgetown Pike. Heck, it might even be fun if it rains. Thoughts?
