Hi guys,
Given this is the FI section I thought most BWR owners & installers would frequent this area more than the for sale/wtb section.

I am desperately seeking the parts removed from my Elise during the previous owner's BWR installation such as the alternator relocation eg the 10cm bush, idler pulley and other bits.

Anyone have these lying around their garage??

Many Thanks
Steve

Thanks for any help with this.

I just lost my katana-assisted Elise and I am thinking about another Elise with the FF 275 kit. Does anyone have experience comparing the two, particularly on the track?

Thank you again for sharing any thoughts you may have,

FI, effective CR, and detonation

As a forced induction newbie, I have a general technical question that I'd like to clear up. I've noticed that forced induction engines seem to be able to get away with higher effective compression ratios (i.e. CR x Boosted_Pressure / Atmospheric_Pressure) than naturally aspirated engines before encountering detonation. For example, a setup that has a CR of 9:1 running 1 bar of boost yields an effective CR of 18:1. Yet I've never heard of a NA gasoline engine running a CR of 18:1, no matter how retarded the spark timing or how rich the fuel mixture. Why is that?

I am looking to pick up an elise or exige if im lucky to do a k swap in. I was browsing here the other day and saw someone running a k24 tsx sc. Now i want to know from people that have done it what did you prefer the k20 or k24 and why? I have a integra type r right now and at first had a jdm k20a in it till it spun a rod then put in a 06 tsx k24a2. The torque is amazing but i miss being able to rev to 9k +. So would the midrange torque be too much for the light lotus chassis or would it be better to have a wider rpm band? I will also be supercharging which ever motor i decide to go with so please let me know your thoughts thanks.

Performance camshaft for forced induction? Also questioning Turbo size

I have been checking into some different things for my next turbo set up and I am struggling with whether to use a GT3071 or a GT3076. I know that I can get 500+whp with the GT3076 but spool up will be slower. I am used to the quick spool up of my GT2871R. At the same time, I am not sure if the GT3071 is going to be capable of making the power I am looking for. I have been checking around and it seems like the GT3071 is only worth about another 50hp over my current GT2871R. Closer to 400whp but it would spool faster than the GT3076. (input would be appreciated)

I was talking to a guy at Forced Performance turbochargers and he recommended that I check into an _aftermarket cam_. According to him, they use different cams on a lot of their turbo cars (Subaru and EVO's) and can make an extra 40-50hp or so just by changing the cam profile.

Is there someone that makes an aftermarket cam for our vehicles that works well with forced induction. If so, I might be better going with the smaller GT3071 and a performance cam to meet my goals. I am shooting for another 100-125whp over my current set up, so I am looking for 450-475whp. I just don't want to have too much lag. Yes, I guess I would like my cake and eat it too.

I cant seem to get this little bugger to go away. I had Charlie reflash the ECU with the most recent revision, but P0172 still comes back as soon as the OBD systems pass readiness. I dont get the stumlbing anymore that I use to right before it would show up, but it still shows up none-the-less.

Everything seems fine, car drives great, no hesitations. P0172 would be looking at short/long term fuel trims, not the exhaust right?

Thoughts on LS diff with SC upgrades

All,

My car is in the shop getting a lot of upgrades, VF Stage ll and it custom tuned, FF header and sport cat, Stage ll exhaust, lite weight flywheel, HD clutch, Olhins 2 way adjustibles, 7/8 BWR roll bar, Sector 111 steering arms, ect, ect, ect

So since i am getting all this done, I have been thinking about getting limited slip diff. But I have no experiance with them nor do I really know whats out there. I did have just a little problem with the inner wheel spinning with my stock 06 Elise, and i can only think that it will get worse with more power.

I have posted this in this forum since it is about SC and turbo setups.

Thanks in advance.
