This event was fantastic, the high point of the year for me, and I want to express my deep thanks to those who made it possible. First and foremost, a huge thanks to Jim for creating and sustaining LCS. His dedication is so total and the work so time and energy consuming that he’s not even able to drive in his own series.
A special thanks to Robbie Montinola, pro racer, Laguna Seca expert and Barber instructor extraordinaire. In two half days of instruction he took me from initial lap times in the 2:00’s to 1:50. Jack and I stayed through Sunday and ran with SpeedVentures, where, channeling Robbie’s coaching, I had a personal best of 1:46.03. A few more sessions with the Master and I’m confident I can trim that by several seconds. Whether you’re a novice or a Laguna Seca veteran, if you want to go faster here Robbie can show you the way. A huge thanks to Lotus for creating the 2-Eleven and making it the engaging, responsive, inspired blast to drive that it is. May they continue to conceive the inconceivable and may their genius rub off on the Italian, German and Japanese manufacturers and their worthy but overweight creations. A big thanks to Aaron & SpeedVentures for taking the big risk and committing to four prime Laguna Seca summer days. And for running, as always, a well organized, well-oiled operation. And finally a big thanks to the Monterey County Parks Dept., which owns Laguna Seca, to SCRAMP (Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula), which manages it and to Gary Thomas, who runs track operations. Great track, great operation, great staff. To next year! ![]() |

She looks pretty uncomfortable but that's par for the Lotus I suppose. Nice photo though!
