Will this be a points event or optional? I want to do it, but timing is bad.

I just got your application. The current participants have until June 1st to sign up and after that we will open it up for new participants. Since we are limited to 25 and each of the last three events have had 26 it might be difficult to get in . We have other events you may want to consider doing with us. Jim

Jim, has registration opened up for Laguna? or do we register through SV directly?

No, this is a LCS event on the 16th . MotorsportReg.com : Online registration management tools for driving and social events to register . When sv opens registration we will register for Friday. I am working with Aaron to give us lead time so to get as many spots in red and black as possible. Another option is for us to commit to a lotus only run group for Friday which will cost $100.00 per person more than sv price of $300.00. I am waiting for the final number. I am getting applications from all over of new participants for this event and I need to make sure our core group gets in. This is not the event to procrastinate and think you will be able to pay at the event. Sorry.
I am very excited to being having this event at Laguna Seca!!

Brent,
We are working on a magic formula to adjust for this addition to the schedule. This will be for points. Jim

On my Birthday -- I'm tempted, I have Larini 8" but no cat and headers. Sound has ALWAYS been a problem for me at Laguna with various cars, even with a bone stock STi I got tossed out by mid day.

Another technique to pass sound is use someone that doesn't get the sound meatball and have them run about a foot off your bumper between T5 and T6. Just have to find someone that is very quiet and runs about the same lap time.

If they use a travel sound station then most will be screwed. But my biggest concern is the noise of my MP62 SC. I'll have to run some DB tests on some back rounds -- I have sound meter. I have a small section of road with close hills that reflect sound similar to Laguna.

Is signup via Speed Ventures site?

Rob.

No, this is a lcs event and registration is on motorsportsreg.com . Thanks, Jim
If you have not participated this year you will have to wait until June 1st to register. I will create a wait list for people who want to attend.

D$%M!!!!! You west coast guys have all the luck. For a serious elevation change we have to use a step stool.

Have fun and play nice.

Don't be so sure... .. Gary's car has a cat (not to mention that he doesn't have the additional noise of a cup car box or s/c whine), your Cup car does not have a cat and does have the other noise making devices. Better do a sound check ....

Al, have you been to Harris Hill yet? It's got some nice elevation changes (of course not the corkscrew, but nobody has anything like the corkscrew).

Wow, must be nice to be able to turn people away like this. What's the spot count?

It's only 25 spots. Was more of a SoCal track based event, last season. So in holding spots for the "regulars", that may not leave many for the "locals". From my understanding they are running it as a extra run group from a Speed Ventures track day. While 25 is a Laguna limit, it's not a hard one. Groups have and can pay extra to run bigger run groups. As to whether someone would want to do that is another matter.

NorCal tracks are pretty popular, would be nice to allow for more drivers. But since it's done in more or less 25 car blocks and run within another group, might be tough to do. In anycase, nice problem to have. (I take care of the club autox events, with 65 drivers and club member only for the first week, only a few non-members get in. We sell out in 1-2 weeks.)

Jim I'm confused on pricing....initially it says around 300 plus 100 for race, then registration says 495 + 100 + 75 for total 670 - is 670 for just one day or both thurs and fri?
Also, can you add my credit to this event? Thanks.

In an effort to help (although I could be wrong):

Pricing for Thursday is $495 (our own Lotus-Only run group and includes the TT).

Pricing for Friday is SV's price plus $100 if you want to run the w2w race (on Friday we mix in with SV's standard run groups for practice time)
