LCS Event #6 -- Streets of Willow -- September 10th
Just wanted to give everyone plenty of notice regarding the 6th stop for the Lotus Challenge Series, which follows the Buttonwillow August weekend event.
================================================== ================================================== ================ The sixth LCS TT Event will be a one-day event held at Streets of Willow on Wednesday, September 10th. This will be a LOTUS Cars ONLY event and is limited to 20 participants/cars. The event is being put on in association with Speed Ventures. Aaron will be there with his timing equipment and will be conducting the time trial. Timing results for each practice session will be posted in the typical SV manner. We will have a full corner worker crew and Fire&Safety will be in attendance. We will have 2 run groups with 10 cars each, so there will be plenty of "empty" track time/practice before the time trial. In fact, each participant will have seven 30 minute practice sessions (for a total of 3 1/2 hours) if they choose to run all their sessions, followed by the time trial exercise. You will get more on-track time with 1/3 fewer cars (before the time trial even commences) than you typically get at a standard Speed Ventures 2 day event. The track day schedule will look something like this: Registration -- 7:00 AM to 7:35 Driver's Meeting -- 7:35 to 7:55 First practice session/run group of 10 cars to commence at 8:00 AM; Second practice/ run group will go out at 8:30; and the practice sessions will continue on the hour and 1/2 hour until Noon. Lunch Break -- Noon to 12:30 PM -- TRACK CLOSED Practice sessions to continue from 12:30 until 3:30 PM Time Trial Drivers Meeting to commence at 3:40 PM Time Trial will begin at approximately 3:50 PM. Cost for this event will be $325 per car and will include timing transponders for all participants. We will be using a FIST PAID, FIRST SERVED allocation system. We need 20 paid participants to cover the overhead associated with this very limited track event. This is a non-profit venture. If we fail to reach our critical mass of 20 cars by August 29th, the event may be cancelled. In that event, all monies will be refunded. We would greatly appreciate your prompt commitment and payment. If you are interested in attending, please send your check for $325 to: Jack Fried, 1900 Avenue of the Stars, 25th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90067 Feel free to RSVP in this post..... but we need your payment too. ![]() Please make note: This SOW event replaces the Cal. Speedway event that was previously scheduled for September 13 and 14. Last edited by Jack : 07-07-2008 at 10:34 AM. |

LCS schedule changes
All Lcs partcipants and members we have changed some of the events that were listed on our website for safety reasons. Next year we will run California speedway as well as infineon.
![]() Please note that the final event for the year will be were we started, Spring mountain motorsports in Pahrump. It will be great to see how much progress our series has made in our driving ability. We are determing the location of the seventh event and the date and should have it posted by monday. Thank you for your patience as we develop the series. Jim |

AJ,
According to the rules, if you keep the stock throttle body then you should fall in the Cup class. Keep the motor stock w/ r-comp and you'll fall in FI.

If you mean the August Buttonwillow 'Jack-Pack' track day -- that's 8/8 not 8/10. Or, do you mean the LCS SOW event -- if so, that's 9/10. I'm confused. ![]() Tomorrow should be fun...we're going to see if Craig can beat the current Lotus record at WSIR in 105 degree heat .... the current record set by Craig is a 1:26.47 in my Cup car. He also did a great time of 1:27.xx in the 300+ RWHP Ronin-mobile as well as a 1:30.04 in a normally-aspirated Elise. All those times were done in much cooler weather however. Tomorrow, he'll go for a new record in an Exige S with several Cup car mods. We'll see. ![]() |
