This was great with a solid turn out. I'm surprised at how many out of state drivers make the journey to CA for the races. Cory takes the gold in that category commuting from Ohio to the east coast then all the way to the west coast. Luckily, his car was unscathed from the off in the photo. Other drivers were not as fortunate.

Competition is becoming closer and closer at each race. Margaret took some great shots and we will post them over lunch.

The legend himself, David Hasselhoff showed up in his R8 and attempted the Buttonwillow #13 CW. He managed to turn a 2.38 and a 2.31 and not offs. The best of the Gumball drivers we clocked was a turbo Porsche turning 2:12s. Yes, we were up in the timing booth with stop watches laughing at the Gumball drivers and their lines.

There were some crazy cars at the event thanks to Gumball 3000. Best weekend I’ve had at the track yet.

Nice putting faces to forum names - Jim, Jack, Brent, Rob, Corey, Eddie, Tim, and a whole host of others I'm forgetting right now - got home around 11 last night.

I had a great time - thanks Jim for organizing this & to the sponsors for supporting it! Now we just need some Norcal tracks in the mix!

Cheers,
-Darryl

I'd drive it.

It was interesting and got the most attention of any car there. Didn't hit the track though.

My apologies to #33 (CMC) and others in the vacinity - ironic as I used to run American Iron series with CMC folks in a Cobra.

Pic at exit of Sweeper

Dirt Devil

Rotors aren't even glowing, how sad is that?

Post my limited onboard video later this week.

Huh what, say that again, can't hear you, huh! Yeah, my buddy helping me out did say that my car sounded like no other -- assume he meant it in a good way.

Hopefully I can get it sorted so I get more than 12 laps all day, it feels like it has a lot of potential once I fully understand it's problems and come up with a solution - it was frustrating though, cursed the car many times. I'll be doing 2 more days of testing at Thunderhill 23/24 -- who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and be able to go to Fontana (another course I know well) with you folks....searching for wood...knock knock

Rob, I hope it was more than just the hose clamps. I had plenty of high torque clamps with me. I didn't know you were having that problem.

Thanks to Chuforia and ALL our other Killer Sponsors!

We wish Forced Fed luck in the repair of their elise and a quick return! Having them out at the track shows great commitment and showcases their knowledge of how to make these fine vehicles perform!

What a great weekend (albeit the heat). Great turnout - lots of familiar and new faces and overall a very safe weekend! I was just happy to have a reliable car for the first time in a long time, and had a blast driving. Even the wifey managed to have fun...

Thanks again to Jim/Jack/Robb and the sponsors for putting this fun LCS series together...

Look forward to seeing everybody at SOW on Sept. 10th!

Ok, Brent - no worries, thanks for the tools usage. And I kept calling you Brett not Brent -- so I seemed to have more than just car issues.

Not sure if a hose clamp is the real cause of this problem, I'm sure the stock hose clamps and hose probably isn't up to the task...BUT there are other possible suspects that could be causing the hose to pop off the IC -- such as the hood latch shock hitting the IC (big dent in IC) so that the IC doesn't move once up against the latch shock, but the motor still continues to move and hence popping off the IC connector hose. That's my hunch since this happened three times and the more agressive I drove the car, the sooner IC connector hose popped off. I do have the FF engine damper, but the motor apparently still moves around a lot. Next time, I will remove the hood latch at the track.

Big thanks to the sponsors and Jim and all involved in making it happen.

And those graphics (static vinyl) were a breeze to put on and they stayed on, even going backwards in the dirt at 100+ mph.
