Insurance

Hey Everyone,
just curious if any of you have fire or theft insurance (off track) on your lotus other than just normal street coverage.

As a track only car I can not get street insurance and am shopping around for show car type insurance.

I have applied with haggerty but please let me know if you have any recommendations.

thanks,

Robb

My cup car is insured thru a major carrier. It is insured when it is off the track for all hazards. I have track insurance thru wsib covering on track incidents . The wsib route did not work for you but has for several hundred track car .

Jack,
What is the makeup cost per person based on 15 to make this work? I can't remember what I even paid because it was so long ago!

I'm cautiously optimistic that we will make our magic number. Some have indicated that their checks are in the mail...so we should be close.

If we only had 15 participants, we would need approximately another $108/person.

Jim, Jack , Robb, this series is tons of fun and very well done, I appreciate all the work that has gone into it. I have one concern that I briefly discussed with Jim after BW, when is the safety equipment meeting and when are the requirements going to be increased. I have been involved in several and witness to even more, severe accidents. I've been on fire more times than I want to discuss and wouldn't be hear today if I hadn't been using a head and neck restraint. I will be bringing a half dozen driving/fire suits and several head and neck restraint systems with me, anyone not currently using thier own please hit me up. I don't want to see rules forced upon us, but having seen both sides, I thing it would be best for everyones safty and betterment of our series.

Safety

Brent,
I appreciate your concern and i second the effort to raise our safety requirements. I too have been witness to many accidents in recent months and baffles me that we have people who would rather spend $600.00 on a splitter than buy a driving suit.
Our series will take a close look at what minimum requirements for safety we will impose next year. So in the interim lcs participants take advantage of Brents offer to make you safer at his expense because next year we will definitely be changing the rules in this regard.

I agree. It's pretty interesting to see where people's priorities can lie. I went through a lot of trouble to get people involved in a fire suit group buy for Stand21 suits, yet when it came time to put the money on the table not one of them came through. I only hope they don't regret that move one day.

In any case, I agree with Brent. If we're going W2W we need serious safety gear and I'd appreciate knowing those requirements sooner than later.

Glad we could make SOW happen! I've been pining for some track since Jack's WS day. I'm going to go sit in the lotus and excercise my legs. 'night.

I am also amazed at the lack luster attitude towards safety equipment. Even if you are not w2w at minimum you should wear a fire suit and gloves. Next step neck restraint . I like the stand alone products but i just bought my third suit and dont need a new one for the time being. Jim

Jim, as you know, I can attest first hand to how important safety gear is.

FYI - I flipped my old car 4 times (1 full rotation was in the air) and due to proper safety eqp. I walked away from it with only a bruise on my left arm. I still to this day do not fully know how or why the axel failed...or what caused what. My point is one second you're hurrying along enjoying yourself and the next you're a passenger holding on for the ride.
Yes, my crash was in wheel-to-wheel comp, but I can say that I have seen worse outcomes in accidents that occur in a non-race environment. This is usually a result of lack of seriousness and preperation b/c it is easy to say, "we aren't racing wheel-to-wheel so it's not as dangerous", not entirely true.

Jim is doing a great job making sure you guys all have fun and get to go home afterwards.

October 18-19 at spring mountain

The track has informed me that they will be hosting our track event on October 18-19 th. We will be part of there member weekend and can expect to have considerable track time. They will be providing timing for both days. In addition, i am working out a "fun Race " for late Sunday after the time trials. I am negotiating the costs and registration and should have the final number this week.
The host hotel will be the Nugget hotel
681 S. Highway 160
Pahrump, Nv. 89048
1-866-751-6500
confirmation #89048
Our group rate is $74.00 less 5% if you are aaa member. The hotels in Pahrump sellout very quickly as a matter of fact the best western did not have 20 rooms remaining as of today. The drop off date will be October 1st and the rate will be at least $89.99 after that and could go higher as they fill up. On Saturday will will have a group dinner in las Vegas . I am also working out those details. As soon as i know i will post. This is our final event of the season and we will be awarding the winners there prizes and recognition . It has been a fun year and next year looks to be even better. I have secured a "big sponsor" that i will be announcing at this event . If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
