I am a sloppy tape kind of guy if I even use tape. It also depends on how much you want on. The tape is not completely necessary, just an extra precaution. The black stuff does eventually clean off.

I'm taping up the sides... if it saves me from scrubbing black rubber marks off later , then its worth it. I did notice today that something took a chunk of my front starshield off and chipped the paint in the front

3 DAYS AWAY!!!

I couldn't wait. I drove the Elise to work today.
All the time I was thinking "what happens if the tire picks up a NAIL?"

That's OK, Simon. You can "borrow" one of the Fast Lane loaner helmets that are "clean"!

Remember the movie Star Trek "Revenge of Kahn" where the earwig went into the ear of Chekov?

I think I'm going to be getting a head sock instead just for this to protect my hair, I don't care how hot it is..

Also, I'm worried that my head will be too big and they won't fit... hehe

I might go find a local place and see if I can pick one up, providing if I can find a local place first. All the ones I know of only sells Motorcycle helmets.

I am new to the community, and wanted to say hello. I picked my Elise last year, but found this site today, when I was looking around for a motor oil stainless steel cap.

I am in Camarillo, CA. Do you guys have meetings/breakfast often? I would love to come and meet with you guys. I even have my own helmet.

Ironman and plastique999:

Sorry that the Willow Springs event is closed, but spectators are always welcome! Drive your Elise to Streets of Willow this Saturday and say "hello"! We can meet you and you can taste of.....fun!

We will have another breakfast, Lotus Drive and/or lunch in the first Sunday of June. Plan on it!

The helmet will be your shade!
There is a large building there that is cooler. Bring lots of water, sunblock, very cool, cotton tee shirts.

I'm going to leave the hardtop home this time.

Where's our umbrella girls???

Woo hoo, picked up a Bell M2 XLG, this one actually fit unlike the Sparco one I got before which was impossible to breath in. So I guess XL does fit me..

No head lice for me!

Simon, That's good you squared away the helmet.

ONE DAY AWAY!!!

I taped up the Elise, filled tank with premium, checked the fluids and put 28lbs in the tires.

James: See you at 5:30 Am tomorrow at my place.

Simon, Mark, Chris: see you at Denny's Sand Canyon Exit on the 14, tomorrow at 6:15 AM (breakfast) 6:45 AM (caravan leaves).

No umbrella girls. Terry didn't like that idea.

Gotta tell ya ... I'm 'stressing'.

My car is down at the dealer getting it's 7500 mile service along with addressing a 'check engine' light that has appeared.

I'm hoping everything goes smoothly and I can pick it up at the end of the day. I don't want you guys to be baking in the hot desert sun without me.
