Stage II too loud for Limerock?

Afternoon everyone,

I'm considering upgrading my exhaust to a Stage II soon but i was wondering if it will be too loud for Limerock. I recall a lot of people in the PCA club skipping events there because their exhaust was too loud for Limerock's strict noise regulations...

Considering it's one of the closest tracks to me (and a major place for HRM events) i don't want to exclude myself because the Stage II (or whatever exhaust i decide on) is too loud.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

You should be OK. I was at a Lime Rock track event in November and there were some Elises with a stage II exhaust. No problems noted. If you are uncertain, you can always buy a supertrapp thing which decreases sound. Do a search on supertrapp for more info.

Thanks Enrico!

...and welcome to NYC! Do you have your elise here or did you leave it in Holland? I've been toying with the idea of trying to get the NYC Elisetalkers to get together for a beer sometime. We'll have to plan something for this winter!

Cheers,

Paul

Thanks Paul,

I bought my Elise here in the US, so it's now on Manhattan.
A beer is always a good idea, there quite some ET-members in NYC and around. I've met some of them already during various event during this fall. Should post this in a different post to get more attention/reaction.

Just reinstall stock exhaust before events and take it off after!

Will a CAI make the car louder or just intensify the sound? Or is there even a difference

I know! I've been having trouble getting adjusted to the Lotus community and mostly ran with my old friends from the Porsche Club this summer. Don't worry, that's gonna change now that i know you folks are out there!

Maybe i can organize a little get together for a bunch of us at the Manhattan Classic Car Club. It's a fun place and as a private club you'd be able to drink as much "root beer" as you like...

It's a private club in NYC for car nuts. Basically you pay a membership fee and get access to their fleet of cars (they pretty much run the spectrum from old classics to modern cars to super cars depending on what level membership you choose).

They have a great space in SOHO for member events and happy hours plus we do track/kart days and the occasional road trip.

I think I walked by it a month ago: it was sort of a showroom somewhere downtown Manhattan with a lot of cars including a Lotus Elise.

Yeah, it's a point system. There are two "collections" each with two membership levels that determine how many points you get. The Carbon Fiber is all the cars including the supercars (Lambo, F430, DB9, etc.) while the Classic level is everything from classics to modern performance cars (Jag E-type, F355, BMW M Coupe, etc).

As far as age requirements go, i believe 21 is minimum age for membership.

If you're curious, come on by next thursday. I'm there every Thursday for our weekly happy hour

I'd be happy to show you around.
