A/C and Heater Don't work after running through puddle

Another Lotus owner on this board ran through a large puddle of water over the weekend and his a/c and heater stopped working. The blue light for the a/c does not even go on.

Any ideas of what he can check? Fuses?

Okay, What you need to do is take a 20amp fuse with you as you poke your head upside down in the passenger seat and your feet hanging on top of the bow cover at the top of your car. look under the dash, you will find a triple block of 20a fuses and more than likely the center fuse is blown. simply pull it and replace with the new one and you should be fine. There are two set of those fuses under there. This is where they are located for the HVAC system. You should be fine except for the crick in your neck from standing on your head.

My new Elise got wet for the first time this weekend. The A/C stopped working similar to the post above. It did come back to life an hour later.
Whats with that???

His has been out for a couple days so I don't think it is going to just come back on.

He is going to check it tomorrow in the day light.

...there's a service recall modification to drill drainage holes underneath the HVAC assembly, barring which it tends to short out or corrode due to standing moisture - my previous circuit died thusly...

I would strongly suggest anyone without the holes drilled that drive in the rain or even wash their car to get it done. That circuit that gets shorted out requires a front clam removal to replace if I'm not mistaken.

Remember to take your shoes off 1st. Although, I think in my avatar my shoes are on, but you can leave scuff marks.

It's the blower motor resistor pack corroding/ shorting out.

1) Insulate the cockpit from Solar (3M Crystalline Tint) & Convected (insulate sills) heat.
2) Replace evaporator thermostat with an upgraded electronic version to prevent freeze up.
3) Increase airflow into cockpit by removing both driver & passenger side footwell intake panels & blocking 2 outside air intakes in nose.

My 06 exige is in the shop right now getting this replaced. I tried the fuse with no luck. Apparently they are replacing the same thing iben has done. So far it has been 3 days! Now I get to drive a vw passat loaner! I miss my car.
