Could the passenger door switch being disconnected cause the alarm 2 randomly go off?

My passenger door switch is disconnected. Its a bit of work to reconnect because to reach it you have to pull off the door sill cover and whatnot, so I haven't gotten around to it.

I've noticed that my alarm randomly goes off. It seems without cause and no direct correlation to the battery charge.

Could it be that the alarm "pings" the door switch to see if its connected?? How does the door switch work, does it complete the circuit when the door is opened? and it would be just like it is disconnected when it is closed regardless?

The switched closes (completes the circuit) on alarm, so if the wires to the switch have been disconnected you have an open circuit which is OK. There is a possibility that the positive wire could touch ground causing an alarm condition while armed. After the alarm goes off, how many flashes are you getting from the security LED.
