Randy, Should the upper control arm bolts be added to this list?

I am in the process of working up a spreadsheet on the items I torque most often. I have done this for many cars and bikes over the years. It will have in/lb, ft/lb and nM values. I will be happy to post this for review when it is finished for comments or additions. Then, is there a way to post an Excel sheet for others to download?

Torque Settings Worksheet DRAFT

I was compiling this for my own use, but will be happy to add/edit this based on the experience and knowledge of those on the forum.

I just print it out and then stick it on the inside of my tool box. I find the general conversion tables to be very useful, as well.

This is super easy to edit and add to, so just let me know what should be in there. Also, please let me know if I have errors, such as the items in red. I'm also fine if it starts to morph off into some other checklists.

When it is finished, anyone interested can email me and I will send them the EXCEL file, unless Randy has an easier way to do it. ( SEE POST #30 FOR LATEST VERSION OF TABLE.)

When I now see how the PDF loaded on the previous post, I could just do the final PDF for easy download, but anyone that wants the original spreadsheet can email me. Please note this is just a draft. I will clean up the graphics on the prime time version.

Input needed!

Hi, guys,

Could some of you please review my PDF on torque settings and let me know what needs to be done to make this a better document for all?

Again, I am happy to respond to any and all suggestions and then put this online for all.

But I need input from some of you that have more direct experience with the cars than I have.

Thanks,

When I took the car to the dealer to order the new exhaust, the tech noticed that both of the bolts from the front lower mount were also missing. In other words, 3 of the 4 bolts were gone and and the 4th was half way out. It is impossible to check these bolts unless you are specifically looking for them - they go into the motor or trans itself.

So is it worth upgrading to the engine mounts some people offer such as Manly's?

Torque Settings Table

Attached is what might be a work in progress, but should be useful for now. I find myself using the Newton Meter conversion table a lot.

The usual disclaimer applies. I tried to check everything carefully, but if your hair falls out or your fender falls off, don't call me.

If, however, you have some additions to the table, just let me know. If you want the table in EXCEL, just PM or email me.
