The 'secret solution' is not sent to new members whose first post is asking how to break into a trunk. Sorry.

Boot Lock Broken

I realise that it may sound a little suspect but I can assure you I do own the vehicle!!
I have to get into the boot to get my locking wheel nut socket so that I can change the brake pads.

Wheel nut broken

Hi Tracy
I am located in Sutton in Ashfield Nottinghamshire. I realise it sounds suspect but I swear this is a genuine request. Took the car to have the pads changed, they rang me and said they couldn't do the pads as they could not access the boot to get the wheel nut socket. I am in need of help.

Thanks for your reeplies guys. There is however a much easier way of getting in. Can be done in 5 seconds with no tools. So if you ever lock your keys in the boot or the lock breaks like mine. PM me and I will give you the secret.
By the way does anyone know where I can get a new lock barrel from. Mine is in peices. Mostly in the diffuser as it fell out of the cover as I took it off.

I locked my keys in the boot too, someone please help me

Hello All,
The message about getting in the boot was private so can someone tell me how to get in.
I went to a petrol garage, I own a MGt5 and the engine is in the boot. I poored the oil and forgot to put the cap back on, and I put the keys in the trunk. When I realized what I did it was too late, I have til 11am to remove the car from the garage before the owners have my car towed, so if someon could tell me how to get into the boot I would appreciate it. There is no lever to get into the boot and there is no way in behind the seats.
Thanks

the solution only works in an Elise (not even in an Exige)

I realize that its possible that it could only work on specific cars but if there is a chance it could work I'd like to try it. If you know what the trick is please help!

Boot lock broken - help!

Can anyone please help me. I am looking after my son's Lotus Elise. He is in the army in Afgahnistan and I'm trying to get the car ready for his return. Unfortunately the boot lock appears to be broken - the sylinder just rotates with the key in it but it doesn't unlock. If I push down on the key while rotating it it just sticks. I've wiggled, pushed, tried all sorts and just cannot open it. I think the lock must be broken. I cannot even get it to a garage because the battery is flat and I cannot charge the battery because it is in the boot. Aaaarrrghh! Can anyone tell me how I can get the lid open?
Many thanks in advance.

Personally, I would not give this information out to anyone who was not well known on this forum . I refer you back to post #8 by RacyTracy, a moderator.

Somehow my key can no longer open the trunk, can someone please PM me the solution. I'll deal with the lock once I open it (I think there is also a thread on that).

Thanks in advance.
