Turn off pop up blocking and any other special security stuff you may have running, and give it a try. Others have had similar problems in the past and that has cured some of them...

I emailed warranty@lotuscars.com concerning the chapters I could not download due to dead links. Great customer service; they corrected the problem, emailed me the chapters, and extended my access period

I have set my security settings to low, turned off my firewall, and turned off my pop-up blocker and still no luck! What next?

How do I cancel the subscription? I followed the steps in Paypal's email but it did not work as there is no link on the Subscription details to cancel it.

I agree with the sentiment Tim but the Lotus web site seems to be buggered so I can see why someone would want to go elsewhere. I paid my $25 and can't get in like the last two guys above this post... it should not be this hard. I have read some of the preceeding posts and it sounds like you have to download individual chapters once you finally do get through... why is there not a button that grabs everything for a particular year / model rather than leave the end user doing multiple downloads and perhaps missing something? And as long as we are on the subject - I read on another post that its an emissions related requirement to post the info... but do the downloads really need to be under emissions on the web site? Why not have a tab titled "service manuals" on the home page so folks can find it?

Perhaps I should not be speculating on the downloads yet since I can't get past the login page even though they have my money (confirmed by Paypal email) http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/imag...s/wallbash.gif

grrrrr!

Never mind - nice email back from Group Lotus apologizing for inconvenience. They fixed everything and I got in and downloaded all the pdfs which did not take long at all... did not see much about removing the interior trim (was hoping to give that to the installer doing my audio upgrade) - but maybe I have not looked hard enough.

........... Gary

i'd like to have a current copy of the manual but i guess i'll have to see if it can be bought from the local lotus parts counter.
i wonder what it costs from them.
as i see it, it's a PIA from the word go, and i'm on dial-up!
moreover this luddite doesn't have a paypal account.

I'M NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THEM NEWFANGLED THINGS!........

A paper copy can be bought via your Lotus dealer. But the price is several hundreds of dollars (probably 3-5 hundred would be my guess). Downloading it for the $25 is really a bargain.

By law, manufacturers are required to make the emissions control and repair information available at a small cost (hence the $25 price). But they are not required to have the entire manual available as Lotus does. Not all manufacturers do that.

Tim, last I checked the paper copy was just under $200, but that was about 6 months ago. Download + print = hardcopy for a lot less than that. Download + read on your laptop, etc = $25. Definitely download if you can do it.

paper copy is $700+

You can get a copy of just the body manual for the Elise for less, but you are missing the others:

parts ($204.39)
service ($228.65)
engine ($156.32)
engine sup ($78.50)
transmission ($46.97)

total list $714.83

Prices are old, as of Nov 04. Ask me how I know?

I suggest reading this thread completely. The electronic copies of the Toyota manuals, the last three in the list above, were available on the European Toyota site. Not sure if they still are...

I'd like to download the manual, but the Service link on their website says under construction. Am I missing something?

Go to http://www.lotustechinfo.com/.

If you're using FireFox, install the DownloadThemAll! extension to download all of the PDFs automatically (after you click Search).
