Front Side Grill Tighten

The small side front grill top screw has been loose since I bought the car in June 05. There have been posts on how to tighten the top screw by removing the large front grill, then popping the turn signal to gain access to the loose screw in the top of the grill. I did not want to pop the turn signal out as there have been issues with the retaining clip being fragile. Also some have suggesting removing the front clam.

I went in from the wheel well and used a 9" flex drive purchased in the drill bit section of Lowes. The photo shows the torx wrench included in the tool kit. I used a torx bit the same size, and a wratcheting screwdriver.

I inserted the assembly through the opening at the top (not from the side opening), then squeezed my left hand along the side opening inside the fender to feel the loose screw so I could guide the torx bit into position. I was surprised that once inserted, torx bit did not pop out making it easy to tighten.

The nice thing about the torx screw was once the bit was inserted, I was able to then use my free hand to hold the grill against the car for the final tightening.
