Radiator Question

First, I just bought a 2008 Elise S/C. This my first Lotus. God, I just love this car! On 9/27 @Mid Ohio I had a sudden coolant leak. Coolant splashed all over the windshield,so, I loaded up the car, came home and took it to the dealer. I had split a seam on the drivers side of the radiator. They covered it under warranty. My question is: Is this a simple defect or is it something I should worry about? How would I monitor it?

Those problems were supposed to be only with earlier cars. Was your old radiator silver or black? What color is the new one?

They supposedly switched manuf. to cure this problem.
There is info here on this topic

I don't know what color the old radiator was. If the radiator is what I see thru the front clam on top, then,it's black.

It is not a common problem but the plastic end caps are known to crack. Of course I know a place that sells a nice upgrade: proRAD

I got my ProRAD in last week and installed it the same day. The quality is fantastic! Thank you Sector 111! Here is a pic of the install.

Here is a pic of the failed radiator.
