Considering this is the exact same price as what I charged for these kits two years ago (Rear frame lift point kits for sale) and I didn't make hardly any money on them, this is a great price.

The "jackhelper" you just paypal'd $60 for is a piece of steel, this is a lift point kit.

True though I think it suits my needs right now though. I guess time will tell.

I wasn't bashing the price or anything (gotta be profitable, right?) … just surprised that a few pieces of metal could be $195. I guess fab costs aren't what they used to be.

Another huge difference is that Jim's jack helper is to be used with a floor jack. These lift point kits are used so you can put your car safely on a four arm service lift without having to remove the engine undertray panel first. The jack helper and these lift point kits are to be used with two completely different lifting devices.

Thought I should post....

I tried to get these done here. Even with the availibility of machine shops out of work, I could not produce these cheaply.

Now if I had my own CNC machine......

Edit...Yes this is a good price. I would have had to sell them at $275 plus shipping. And I would have only been making a small amount on them if I did.

Now if I could have produced 100 kits...yes I could have got the price down. But without at least 75 prepaid orders....it would not have made any sense. A lot of money to have out there....

So you get it up; what now?

No flames here, but once you have used the jack with the lift bar (great for a quick lift w/o diffuser removal), how are you going to make sure you are safe and put the car down on jackstands?....Correct; with these (also great as no diffuser removal is necessary)

or..

You are in the middle of nowhere and get a flat. Inflator is useless. You find a tire shop. Do you wanna do a "qball", or know that you can point the tech right to the pick up points?

Not trying to flame you, but that's why this is a great idea.... Light; strong; permanant and quick lift point.

Are you using Hockey Pucks on your lifting arms?

I do (that is my lift/car in the photo in the first post on this thread), but it is not necessary. Any 4 arm lift with good rubber pads will work.

I see the value if you have to perform work outside of your own shop. We have a drive-on lift so it's easy enough to lift the entire car and bring it down lightly on a couple jack stands using the jack helper.

Not a bad idea having these lift points in place for those unfortunate times you mentioned.

Hell, I'll probably end up ordering a set just for the worst of times.

Actually, I have both and use both together on occasion. I feel that both the jack helper and the rear frame lift points are indispensable tools to have on hand.

If you want to jack the car up using a floor jack, you simply lift one side using the rear factory jack point and place jack stands under the front factory jack point and the "rear frame lift point." Move the floor jack to the opposite side's rear factory jack point, lift, and place jack stands under the corresponding front factory jack point and the "rear frame lift point." Voilà, car is up on floor jack stands in about 5 minutes. Sooooo much better than removing diffusers and shear panels, etc. Tire swaps, brake bleeds, etc are done far more efficiently as a result.

Alternatively, if you just need to jack the rear of the car, for whatever reason (i.e. swapping rear tires from side to side), you can use the jack helper to get the rear end in the air and then place jack stands under these "rear frame lift points." Voilà, instant butt lift (not to be confused with cosmetic surgery).

Both tools have their uses. I use the "rear frame lift points" much more than the jack helper.

Your mileage may vary, but I'd suggest spending the <$300 to have both of these products in your garage.

Best,

For anyone out there listening, these things are well worth the money. Even with a four post, drive on lift like mine, I still use these all the time to change tires and do brakes. Remember, the jacking point under the door is IN FRONT of the center of mass in this car, so to lift the rear of the car on a lift requires you to take off the diffuser. With these on, I just lift and get to work with no qball action.
