Tony-you pull them away from the center and towards the windshield at the same time, lifting slightly. Don't be afraid, it's okay.

The covers are retained by the bolt that you can see (tool in your tool kit removes it) and two prongs that fit into rubber inserts that live in the central spine element. You can see these if you look into the gap between the covers and the spine. Additionally, the panels have a black plastic lip that fits under the radiator exit grills. Some cars have had their covers replaced without ensuring that the lip is in place under the radiator grill's rear edge.

I actually removed one of mine for the first time yesterday as I noticed it was not sitting right UNDER the radiator grill as it should. Was pretty easy - just remove the screw and pull towards you as surferjer said...

I also just removed them the first time the other day. The instructions from the manual worked for me.
Took me a minute to pull them loose, I was scared of applying any kind of force. But with a little wiggling, the prongs came out of the center spine. For installing them again, make sure that you slide the lip of the cover under the grill before you start to push them back towards the spine.Once you've done it a few times, it's probably a matter of seconds.

It is a few seconds. I pull my passenger side all the time to pull the horn fuse before meets. Honking the horn while on course may be amusing, but it always upsets my concentration when it happens.

Given time the panel may remove itself! i.e., one day I noticed the panel was poped up and the screw was all the way undone and just rattling around. These Loti do shake their screws loose.

Good post....My car got egged in Las Vegas last weekend. All of the impacts (3) were on these panels or the windshield and if it had to happen I'm glad it happened there instead of on the clams so it can be easily removed and repainted. Fortunately I got the egg off within an hour and before sunrise.
