Replacing electric window lift mechanism... how?

I've a new electric window lift mechanism to go in and I can't see how it's going to fit through the hole in the door.

Has anyone replaced theirs? Do you need to remove the lock mechanism rod and cover?

Manual Window Removal/Install Process

i didn't document the install of the power window but it's pretty much the reverse of what i showed in the above link...

Here's the removal procedure for electric windows from the Service manual.
