Shift Light on tachometer stays on

First off, this is my first post, so be kind

I have a 05 Elise with 5100 mils on it

The other day, I was out for a spin and after a quick zero to 100 or so the shift light stayed on, not as bright, and flickers a little. Tried turning the car off for about 10 minutes and when started up, went for about 10 feet then died with the clutch fully engaged. The light then only came back on after going over 4000 rpm, and stay on flickering once again.

I did not think to unhook the battery and try to reset it at the time, and if no one has any experience with this, that will be my next step.

Thanks in advance!
