Spax Adjustable Shocks

I know this might sound stupid, but I have a '73 Lotus Europa TC Special that has the Spax shocks all around. When I have a passenger with me and go over a dip in a drive way or crossing railroad tracks, slowly, I get a bottom out sound in the front mostly on the right side. How do you adjust these shocks and if that does not work,I would need to replace them. They have a steel plate at the base that can be turned but that does not help, what I need is to know how do you adjust these? Any help would be appreciated.

I have Spax shocks on an Alfa and they have an adjustment screw at the bottom of the shock body. Screw in to make them tighter, screw out for softer.
