I have had mine for a little over three weeks and have 2600 miles on it. The only problem I have had was after I washed it for the first time, the right turn signal fell out. The gasket was tucked under to make it stay from the factory. I just took a dremel tool to the underside of the fiberglass where the hole for the turn signal is and that allowed the clip on the turn signal to snap into place. The only other thing is the heater is worthless with the top off. My Miat would cook you with the top off in almost any kind of wheather. It seems to be a very well made car.

Got my car today and have my first problem. The dead pedal fell off in the footwell. Very annoying not having anything to rest my foot against, it just floats in space.

It appears to be bonded to the side of the chassis with a black glue. None of the glue is on the foot rest, it is all on the chassis. I guess they didn't get a good bond.

But the car is fantastic and this will get fixed.

i've had a couple minor problems but they always seem to fix themselves. I've never had a car that actually heals.

Wow, I must have all the problems then.
Handbrake didn't release properly - replaced under warranty
Passenger side front panel, hex drive bolt, the hex drive was almost round -replaced for free by dealer.
Windshield cracked by a piece of gravel (not insured) now replaced.
Suction cup rear view mirror installed as the standard interior mirror must be overstock from a bus company Still looking for a decent replacement but the suction cup one is light and small and works great

No problems so far with mine. I have an appointment for first service next week. I'm in awe of a Lotus that works so well in every way. And my Esprit has been Toyota-reliable for the 40,ooo miles I've owned it (spent less than $2,600 total maintenance in that time -- both planned and...rare...unplanned maintenance). So the Elise has a good example to strive for, sitting next to her in my garage.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

problem

Just brought home yesterday, 280 mile ride from the dealership.

One headlight out, power outlet doesn't work.

The ghost of Lucas...

kusheen,

If it makes you feel any better, my power outlet was bad when I took delivery. According to the dealership, it was a fuse.

My radio has the exact same problem as MotorCade's. The dealer tried to fix it once, thinking that there was a loose connection, but it's still there (intermittent).

on my first drive home, i heard this metal bolt-like rolling noise. i feared it was something stuck in the frame. after getting her warm and in the garage, just before the sleet and snow came that day, i inspected the interior.

i found a drill bit. yep, my very own and first Lotus drill bit. no more sounds.

after i finally turned the radio on, the clock doesn't keep time. (i posted a thread on the electrical portion of the forum). hope to figure that one out.

my other problem, which is common in this area, is TOO much SNOW!!!

'barely have 300 miles after 2.5 weeks....boo hoo. but i atleast have our lotus in our garage!!! 'not complaining!

No problems with mine...but then again, I only have 400 miles on it and I've had it since November. EV8...this NJ snow really does stink...I'd rather it be "eye candy" for the garage than covered with salt and sand blasted on the road

Fan adjustment knob pulled off - now fixed.
Fuel filler door doesn't close completely flat to body.
Alarm sometimes needs resetting.
Obviously, not much to complain about.

I'm having the same problem with my fuel flap. If someone figures it out or has any suggestions please do tell. My right rear speaker sounds like it has a rattle when low base is playing. Both very minor problems

headlight out

Driver's headlight out by the time I got it home from NJ last weekend.

Quick fix. Imagine, something easily fixed on a Lotus. This IS a different car.

I've had two problems.

a) had to take a trip less than a week after delivery. Car sat for a week.

b) was sick last week/this week and car sat lonely and ignored in the garage.

In one month of ownership, I put just under 400 miles on her.

Other than that, no problems.
