TRD Filter Information
As mentioned by me on another thread, a highly
rated filter for our Elise is the one offered by Toyota. It is their TRD oil filter for our Elise. I was able to locate a dealer at www.toyotaworld.com and found the following info under TRD, plotting in the part # PTR14-00000-06 which has the same application as our Toyota Filter 90915-YZZF1. The filters are $12 each. They do ask for a vin number when you order via 'cc' but if you plot in 17 zeros, it will satisfy their system. Not sure if the PTR number is just for this dealer or for Toyota nationally. They also had an 800 number - 800-327-2087. Last edited by Ridgemanron; 01-10-2007 at 03:59 PM. |

not going down without a fight at 'The Alamo'! Think of how many more Taco Bell's there would be throughout the land if Santa Ana got through Texas and branched out quickly, scooping up all the best fast-food sites. |

duty, even though he doesn't live here anymore. When you're born in Brooklyn, you are a militia member for life. I figure we can line up all of Mark's cars across Flatbush Avenue and hold em' off as they cross the bridge coming into Brooklyn. My car is 'definitely' available to run off to Fort Hamilton for more troop replacements if needed. |

please post a follow-up when you receive that filter from toyotaworldotcom. i pinged a connection that i have at a high volume toyota dealer (he's the parts mgr) and gave him the part number (90915-YZZF1). he told me the retail on that part is $26 and my "deep discount" is $21. he said that the trd parts don't have high margin, as opposed to the regular toyota parts. he's above and beyond being a straight up guy, so i'm really, really curious what exactly you're going to get for the $12. btw-the other toyota filter prices out at $5.XX. any |

ordered. Coming from Texas to NY via Fed Ex Ground the total charge was $31.50. The filters are listed at $12 each. There shouldn't be any problem with the filter fitment since they coordinate precisely to the standard Toyota one I had been using (90915-YZZF1). The TRD part number, according to the 'Toyota World' dealership, is PTR14-00000-06. I'll post more info when they arrive. |

I suggest you call 'Toyota World' at their 'free' 800 number and ask them specifics. Perhaps they could e-mail you photos. P.S. There are photos of their part numbers on site, as well. Their number is 800-327-2087. |

is a Japan 'better' version of the TRD filter. I found it for $20.19 each, under Part # 90915-SP010 @ www.nengun.com/trd/sports-oil-filter |

so three filters available. street prices, $5, $12 and $20. interested to know what structural/service differences actually exist. my parts guy was not entirely impressed with the "trd" filter, vis-a-vis the regular toyota filter.perhaps for this application it may have some increased value. i'm not an expert.

affiliated with them can explain the differences between them. I would assume that as the price goes up, the filtering ability should as well. It's not as if we are talking about three different manufacturers here. |

Does anyone here recommend the K&N oil filter for the Elise? I like the 1" nut on the bottom for easier installation/removal.
