Warranty question

I have aftermarket wheels on my lotus (piaa fr-7) will this void my warranty on suspension related problems? Thank you in advance for all genuine advice/knowledge.

It really should not...but it depends on your dealer.

Call your Lotus service rep and ask him.

He'll tell you right away...

This was an extended warranty that I purchased when i bought my car from FVMC. I thought about calling but i did not want to call and have them automatically void my warranty with out ever touching the car, but that might be what I have to do.

Bought my 2008 Elise SC from them in July. They are very reasonable people to deal with. Talk to John in service.

No there was a law passed a few years ago that prevents minor mods from voiding the warrenty. Go online and you can find it.

While the dealer does have some input into warranty claims, the final decision lies in the hands of the manufacturer or the distributor, in this case Lotus Cars Usa. The regional service rep will be approached and he will determine if the suspension failure occured as a result of the non-oem wheels. I know the regional rep and he is very fair. Lotus is among the better manufacturers when it comes to this sort of thing. He takes the time Ro really understand the failure at a granular level. If he turns something down, frankly, it probably deserves to be.
