I get 'chatter' on the passenger side. Guess I'll have to see what I can find.
The Toyota one works? The local Toyota dealer has been very good looking up stuff for me, I'll try that.

Come on guys--bend the ends on the wiper. Worst case you break it.

This is not brain surgery.

I switched over to a 26" Trico Innovision. Works okay but does chatter sometimes. Will try a 26" Trico Neoform soon.

Good suggestion, except:

When Con Reports tested wipers, they found that the Toyota blades were very good, but the refills were not. My friend at Toyota told me that they are made by two diff cos.

I still like the Anco Premium blade.

Smitty, velcro it to the underside of the passenger-side front access panel. Functionally as clear to RF, and no more windscreen clutter. Good mod.

I tried this and it worked...everywhere except PA. My friend's theory is that the PA receivers don't aim this low, but I don't agree, as many cars have the transponder located by the front lic plate.

03 celice doesn't work.

I just thought i'd post that an 03 celica insert doesn't work. At least not on my early 06 model elise, and not with what the toyota dealer sold me.

My observation with the 2 inserts i've tried (including the one designated for the 03 celica) is that the width of the rubber that sits inside the catches on our frame are narrower than the inserts i've tried so you have to really shove them into the frame, which then doesn't flex properly.

I think the Lotus windhield wiper frame is a good design for the vehicle in that it has a LOT of flex in it to wrap around the outside edges of the windshield... but finding an insert... grrrr...

any other recommendations for narrower inserts?

I got a Trico refill 45-260 from Advanced Auto for $3. The Trico was just a bit too wide because of the metal splines in top of the rubber blade. I took out the metal splines and replaced them with the splines from the original Lotus blade. Placed the new trico rubber insert with old lotus metal back into the original Lotus wiper and ta-da -- finally a workable wiper that meets the windshield at all points that only cost a few bucks to replace the rubber.

I've had to do this with several of my cars. I usually re-use the old metal strips with the new rubber for the reasons that you described.

Odd, it works fine on my 06. Not sure what the dealer gave you. Perhaps the wrong one.

+1

I tried the inserts and it didn't flex properly afterwards. I just ended-up buying Valeo set (2 for the price of 1 special) from TireRack. Seems to work pretty well.
