An Article about Elise!

Los Angeles Daily News: Friday (12/28/07) there was an article "TOP 10 DRIVE MOMENTS of the YEAR".
The front page is HUGE photo of a red Elise on the "B" section. I read it and I was excited that Elise was #1 on this author's "LIST". (Thanks Jack, for giving the article!)

http://www.dailynews.com/search/ci_7....dailynews.com

But as I read it, my excitenent waned rapidly. The article said absolutely NOTHING! The author (Gregory J. Wilcox) said NOTHING! He "compares" ten vehicles from 2007 as the top of HIS own thoughts. OK. The vehicles were so different, I could not find the drift of his article.

Here they are:
1. Lotus Elise
2. Ford Edge (WTF?)
3. Jaguar XK coupe
4. Lexus LS 460L
5. Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie Mega Cab 4X4
6. BMW 650i
7. Lincoln Navigator
8. Saturn Aura Green Line
9. Land Rover LR3 HSE
10 Pontiac Solstice

He NEVER mentions performance, but he does concentrating on style, looks (in HIS opinion) and how many DVD players are logistcally placed in the vehicle. Again....WTF?

Although Lotus was #1, it left me scratching my head and trying to find the reason behind the article. What do you think?

I get that paper as well and read the article

I'm guessing that being the dead week between Christmas and New Years, many on staff were on vacation, and they needed a filler article
or perhaps he just felt like writing a quickie article so he could enjoy the week with his kids or something.

but can't complain the fact that the Lotus was his favorite moment!

found the article online:

Maybe the spots are open for bid... lotus paid the most?!? Never underestimate marketing nor business as a general rule.

All said there's plenty of reasons to put it to the top of the list. Then let the readers do the research to figure out why if it's in a segment that you're looking to purchase in... does anybody care why he loves the megacab? But I definitely would have put a g-wagen in the list... it's the only thing i can think of that'll wrestle the lotus for position as fun to drive... but i wont bore the details here.

Have you looked at how much space is in the Solstice with the top down? It might be about the same volume, but it's pretty sell separated because it goes around the edge of the trunk area, and the soft top takes up the space in the middle.
