Per the article, Toyota > Honda
but they gave the nod to the Honda because of aftermarket support (sorta lame and out of scope since they were comparing stock engines).If we fast forward to today though... K20 > 2ZZ > B18 What is Toyota/Yamaha's answer to the K20 though... hrmmm |

the K20 is the best 4 cylinder production engine in the world right now, period. When will toyota (yamaha maybe) answer it?

Ya, it was an ingenious technology. Although Honda was not the first company to come up with a variable cam profile, what they did was make it simple and reliable as well as bring it to a platform that was accesible to many enthusiasts.

Toyota's Answer to K20: BEAMS 3SGE(Red top) (Black Top w/ Dual VVTI) Maybe... But id agree with Flux, 3SGTE can make alot of A$$ whooping power!!! mr2oc.com guys proved this to me (i was riding shotgun). Even Better: 3rd Gen. 3SGTE ftw!!! |
