"Lotus claims that the 2050-pound roadster can hit 60 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds "

So... a supercharger takes away .1 second off of 60 comapred to a LSS elise? I didnt think that the torque difference would make a half second difference in acceleration.

Interesting how the finish changes on the California grill work.

Look at the C&D gallery. Passenger side rear grill is red. Driver side is silver. At the LA AutoShow, the grills were red, as were the fins on the tail (silver in the gallery). Looks like someone overruled the silver grills?

The California works well, nice dash and interior treatment a little like the Europa!

How some in another color besides red?

Maybe California red, yellow or silver?

I like some of the "California" styling. The silver grills looks good with the red. I did notice one of the photos of the pass side of the car had the rear duct grill painted body color. Interior was not my taste, too may colors inside.
How is the Eaton SC different from the Roots, to produce more torque?

I like the openings in the seats to allow proper fitment of harness belts without having to cut openings. The painted grills look kind of tacky.

What the hell? 2050 lb roadster?

Did they fill vacancies in the clams with lead bricks???

Thanking the Lord I own a pre-pigged Elise...unless car and driver's information is inaccurate, which I am hoping to be the case.

It won't be the first, or last, time that C&D's info is inaccurate....

According to Lotus, preliminary numbers for the 2008 Elise SC are:
0-60 in 4.4 seconds; 0-100 in 10.7 seconds; and unladen vehicle mass of 2000 lbs.

Lotus specs for the 2008 Elise are:
0-60 in 4.9 seconds; 0-100 in 12.9 seconds; and unladen vehicle mass of 1984 lbs

+1 on the painted grills looking terrible... if they were real metal grills with a silver finish, it might work ok (altho would probably still look better painted black), but just painting the plastic pieces silver looks really cheap. Add to the fact that some grills are then painted red, and the whole car looks a bit like a frankenstein...

Interior could've maybe worked, but I think red/white is a pretty bad interior color combination....

Another C&D error...

So Lotus lists an '08 SC at 2000 lbs? That's reasonable.

All figures for the Elise SC are estimates ...official numbers "will be confirmed once the car undergoes witnessed performance and emissions certification."
