Well I guess that answers the “how many PSI is the supercharger producing” question!

From C&D: “the company has added a roots-type supercharger making 7 psi of boost”

I also just heard from Euroclassics in Richmond that they have two Ss and a Cup. One S is sold, the other is grey.

Yeah 30hp is crap! To limit it at that and charge 6K premium for it is frustrating. It's going to leave evey S owner not totally happy and looking for was to get what the cup get's

I'm having a bit of a problem believing 7 psi. It wouldn't be the first time a magazine made a mistake. Whats the boost on the 240?

In a previous thread someone said that someone at Lotus said the 240 makes 5.44 psi. So I think you are correct, 7 psi in probably not correct figure.

Damn the color matched parts are ugly. Especially on the yellow.

Yeah the 16% HP increase is crap. But the gain in torque is the real deal breaker IMHO.

IF it is TRUE that the only differences between the S and the Cup are the injectors and the throttle-limiting DBW map, then you could change the injectors and "remap" the throttle plate via a "linkage adjustment." Maybe? I'm just daydreaming.

"To the Toyota-sourced 1.8-liter four-cylinder that powers Lotus’ entire lineup, the company has added a roots-type supercharger making 7 psi of boost and an air-to-air intercooler fed by the roof-mounted air scoop."

Roof scoop doesn't feed air, unless they unblocked it again

But because it's so elastic to changes, it makes a SUBSTANTIAL difference. 6k is a small price to pay for a lotus-offered performance increase like that.

Uh... yes; the roof scoop is unblocked on the Exige S.

I would buy it! I think it is great! I hope they produce a aftermarket supercharger for the ELISE.

in that case, would it be detrimental to remove the roof as some have done on their exige's?
