I'm digging the video for the article...that's a nice color. (not as nice as Magnetic, but it'll have to do.)

Nice review. Too bad he had to mention that Z06 and GTR is about the same price. As much as I love Lotus, those two cars are a better value.

Depends on how you value a car. If the value is based on performance then those cars may perform better on some tracks. If value is based on fun factor, the Lotus is hard to beat at any price.

the GTR WAS about that price if you could find one at MSRP(good luck) and now MSRP has been bumped up.

+1

Sitting right next to my Exige is a 993 Turbo... certainly considered one of the original "speed appliances". It's a great car, in many ways... but when it comes right down to it... if I really want to go for a joyride, it's the Lotus every time...

Just searched to see if this was posted yet, and well of course I found this thread

I saw the link to it on Digg's front page. Pretty good commentary for the most part. Nice to see some people "get it"

Digg - NY Times: Lotus Exige S 240 is a Ton (Just Barely) of Fun

Speaking of Lotus's penchant for small and light, candidate for best line in an automotive article for 2008:

Wonder if the guy has heard of the Ariel Atom?

Yes, from '88 into the early '90s. The VX220 and Speedster were a limited run, no longer produced. The Federal Elise comes from that production facility.

About a month ago a dealer in Glen Burnie, MD had one in the showroom. They were telling everyone who walked past it that it could be had for $90K.

I'm pretty sure Neovas aren't 60 treadwear as stated in the article.
