Thus some € 34,500 for the Club Racer is a kind of a bargain - provided that you appreciate the colors and all other options. (all prices include 19% VAT).
So ... if you back out the 19% VAT, it becomes about $42,000. That's getting closer to a sellable option in the US.

Wait, so it's different colors, a 1ZZ engine, making less hp than a base Elise here in America, and a slower 0-60 time? I don't get the appeal of it, why was this made?

I love you guys.

But it has a smaller but 134hp 1ZZ engine for smoother handling and possibly better mileage and different color options? Okay, I guess.

Thank you Master Kenobi, and Master M.
I have to go fight the CIS army tomorrow, so I need to prepare. AKA the first day of 10th grade. ><

You need to brush up on those reading and comprehension skills
  1. The Elise S is the 134bhp 1ZZ Toyota engined replacement for the previous Elise S which had a 122bhp Rover engine - so it is an upgrade
  2. The 1ZZ is 1.8l - just like the 2ZZ
  3. No-one buys an Elise because of its mileage (though they may use that as justification )
  4. The Club Racer is a limited edition variant of the Elise S (colours - trim - etc) for European markets
All clear
