Just discovered Winding Road through another source, and was going to post it here but you beat me to it! I second the quality of the article and recommend it to all EliseTalkers.

Winding Road is also full of fine automotive writing about other enthusiast cars, and calls the shots pretty objectively. The TVR article is a good example. In addition to enthusing about Lotus and the Elise, after touring Hethel, the Elise also gets included in their 10 absolute best sports cars (out of 50 best), but is then assessed for its "hardships." (read not everyone's cup of tea). That said, placing the Mini Cooper above it does not compute (not even the Works model). Nice photograph also.

Nice magazine and can't be the price.

They also had an article about the Lotus 7 and Elise in a previous issue.

Yeay! Keep reading Winding Road. My company is producing it - the digital magazine format, that is. As I said in a previous posting, more readers, more $$ for me in my bonus, and I'll finally be able to spring for track wheels and tires. PM me and let me know what you don't like about the format, and I'll try to fix it.

Wendy,

What an awesome magazine! I am trying to locate a back issue that contains an article on the Lotus Elise and so far have been unable to do so!

The back issues available online go back to "Winding Road Issue 16". Is it possible to get earlier issues?

Please can you assist?

I really like the format and noticed that Driver Republic has started to use it as well. The only addition I'd like would be some sort of keyboard shortcuts to page through - right now I have to position my cursor over the next page icon and keep clicking through.

Put this in your browser:
wwww.nextautos.com/winding-road-issue-8

remove the extra W - silly board is too smart and replaces the url with a nice link
replace the "8" at the end with the issue you want to see.

Just to clarify, we do the online format and hosting, but not the content. They get some car writers for that.

I just checked it and it looks like they've removed the "Archives" button from the nav bar, so the easy way to get there is gone. But, you can go in and put the month in the url, as in:

Winding Road - June 2008

instead of this month's:

Winding Road - October 2008

Still that's not highly intuitive, and I say that in my most polite way, because I know these guys and they are probably reading this thread. So, I went back to all the issues from this past January, and the only article I found was on the sQuba, in June. I don't know why the publishers decided to remove Archives, but I'll check in and let ya know.

I checked out Driver's Republic, and didn't see a link to a digital magazine, just lots of web articles. Do you have a link, rnr? I'm always interested in the competition. There's a small world of digital magazine providers, and the UK has some that have not crossed over, but have cool design that I'd like to shamelessly steal.

Thank you Wendy!

You are correct the archives have been removed - I could not find any issue earlier than August 2007!

This is a shame and does not make sense!

To whom it concerns: please provide access to these archives!

Wendy

The stories in the features section are in the digital magazine format. What's neat is that they also incorporate video into the articles

You can also get Car and Driver, Road & Track, Automobile, etc in a digital magazine format (Zinio) as well ( I believe you have to subscribe to the service though)
