Big Meet - MOTOR4TOYS!!!

Since Los Angeles has been dubbed "LOTUSCapital" I figured maybe we should put together a "large" meet, where we can all chat, catch up, and talk shop etc. (I've been to a few meets and i think more people need to show up)

It should be at a place and a date where at least 75% of owners in the greater LA area can and will be able/available to show up

Im more than happy to plan something if we get good enough feedback, and a few ETalkers could also help out.

Prefferably some where in the LA county area?

Date and Time?

totally open for suggestions

*just a thought, if there is enough interest, maybe WE can make it happen*

Kinna like a "LOG" type event but a bit smaller and in the LA area

thanx

OK people since there are plenty of ideas swirlin about, ive decided to go ahead and do a pre-meet @ The www.MOTOR4TOYS.com meet dec. 2nd 2007
and from there we can discuss how we can do our Big Local Socal Lotus meet.

When??? Pick a time in the next three weeks maybe, and I can be there to make a NorCal representation (except 10/26-10/28).

If you do something like Santa Barbara, I might be willing to go as well.

I know KartFactory can setup something with car clubs so you can have a show, etc... They have plenty of parking

Earlier this year, there was a "big meet" at what was formerly known as Lotus of South Bay. About 48 cars showed up. Maybe you can set something up w/ Abe and have him showcase the supercharger installs that they do there...along w/ food and drinks of course!

A pic of some of the cars that showed up that day.

The gang at the Marina Del Rey Sunday drive sometimes show up enmass. The turn out is spotty, sometimes you get a dozen Lotus', sometimes 1 or 2 show up. It all depends. The great thing is...after the meet and greet stuff, everyone blasts down PCH and hit the Malibu canyons! Fun stuff.

Just throwing stuff out.

Kart Factory does sound good, and that place is CAR guy friendly, its a great place to hang and have some fun at

And also a "dealer" type event would totally be cool as well, we can do meet/greet BBQ etc.

awesome ideas keep em comming

as far as time frame, for us to do it up BIG it would most likely happen at the 1st quarter of 2008 (Jan or Feb)
that way we have more time to set things up with out being last minute
it also gives the "busier" lotus owners some time to mark it on their calendars to plan ahead of their busy schedules
and more time for us to get the word out

it be nice to see all types of Lotus cars in 1 place (sevens, elites, elise, exige, elans, esprits, and maybe even some track cars)

Coi this is a brilliant idea. I don't know of a car friendly location in my area, but i'll keep an eye out.

I don't want to speak for Abe, but i know that he is no longer at South Bay.. If i remeber correctly he is now at BH Porsche. So, i don't know if xziteme's suggestion will work.

Having the meet in Santa Barbara might work. I don't know about the parking issue, but its a fun drive (via PCH). Its also has quite a few really nice restaurants and overall its a nice place to spend a day.

Having said that, i think the turnout would probably be bigger if the meet is kept local.

anyway, those are just my thoughts at the moment. I'll keep an eye out for a good location, and update this thread.

i vote for OC of course because i am biased...but i do think there is a lot less traffic to deal with and easier parking (i.e. finding a big space to fit all of the cars) in OC than in most LA areas

Irvine Spectrum, The block, Kart factory, Cars and Coffee Meet
40 Lotuses at the cars and coffee meet would be awesome. We could make it Lotus day.

C&C has a featured marque each week...maybe a Lotus day could be set up. I have no idea who arranges that at Ford PAG, though.

Yea a C&C Lotus day would be perfect for our plans, maybe a small cruise and lunch after, i wonder who puts the meet together and when u guys think the next LOTUS day would be...since i work weekends i would need to know asap to ask for the day off LOL

good suggestions so far, keep em comming

so far we have:
C&C
Kart Factory

Irvine Spectrum and the Block may not be as easy since it gets a bit crowded on the weekends if someone has connections there maybe we can set something up with them...like aloted parking spaces/reserved parking, if we do our "big" meet there

as for the LA area locations. I plan on doing some scouting this Sunday.

I know that there are some nice places down near Marina Del Rey, but the parking would be an issue if we get more than 15 or 20 cars.

i'll keep checking around.
