Club111 El Toro AutoX-Car Control December 2, 2006

Time for another Autocross boys and girls!

Saturday 2nd December at El Toro. This event is sponsored by the wonderful Lotus of South Bay.

We are intending to have a So Cal Autocross season next year (4 events) with an actual competition, so for this event we think we'll give the competition a go so that we can work out some of the bugs in our plans.

So the Schedule will be:
9:00AM First car out for practice
12:30 Lunch provided
1:00 Competition 3 runs on the same course with Cones counting
~3:00 Fun runs to close.(4:30?)

There will be 4 Classes for competition called:

AD07 (cars with AD07 or similar with no Forced Air)
A048 (cars with A048 or similar with no Forced Air)
People Who Take Themselves Way Too Seriously (cars with sticky tires and/or Forced Air)
Novice (people who have never attempted any autocross before)

The Novice class will compensate for tires by handicapping according to the fastest AD07 and A048 times in the day's competition.

There will be instruction available throughout the day.

As this is a competition day we are going to need a little more help than usual. If you have Motorola Radios, bring them along.

The cost for this event will be $60 dollars for the first driver, $20 for the second. Please go over to www.Club111.net to pay. I'll be charging $70 dollars on the day entry.

This event is for Club111 members. Take a look at this thread to see if you are still a member. If you are not, please renew.

I'm going to be away for a couple of weeks. (I'm going with Rachel and Cade on the La Carrera Pan Americana), in the mean time send questions to Robert Puertas and Knucklehead about this event.

Jacob, what kind of rubber will you be running? It's fun to see you beat A048 people on AD07s.

Just registered too, should be fun. I'm not sure I'm ready for the public humiliation of actual competition and posted times but someones got to be slow to make the rest of you look faster.

Justin,
I'll be running Falken 615's so I can TRY an beat YOU on ADO7s.

Sean,
Come out and play and you'll do fine. It takes a couple of times just to get used to the damn cones. So this will be an excellent opportunity for you to get the hang of it before next season. I promise you'll love it.

Eric,
go to club111.net and register. Go to the event and don't forget your helmet. BTW that's club111.net NOT club111.com

I'd encourage you to give it a shot--a least during the practice session. This is a very safe, low pressure environment to explore the car's capabilities. Some experienced drivers, like Steve, would be happy to drive along and show you how to work through the course. It looks like Modern Wedgie is trying to bum a ride--she'd quite a good driver, too, and might trade some instruction for some driving time. (I really enjoy volunteering other people to do stuff.)

does the Tustin Thunder event still happen ?
