August 22, 23 will NOT work, we're committed that weekend.

August is just about filled with committments, the only one free was 16th.

It might be good to plan the Hearst Castle trip for Fall (October) when it will be a bit cooler and we can see the night tour.

I would vote late October as well. I will be out of country from late Aug to late Oct. And also late October, we might get the private tour as Rachel indicates private tour is n/a in summer. Also Oct is cooler than Aug, good for top down driving.

I am IN if it's late October.

Yes I would do late october as well, I have been on the castle tour twice already and would not want to do the normal tour a third time but thought a special tour would be very interesting ! The last time I went by there it was very very crowded with tourists. We should check out and see if we can get special parking arrangements at the hotel, restaurant and castle maybe ?
