No more service @ Lotus of Beverly Hills. Anything else in LA?

About 5 weeks ago I called up Lotus of BH to get some work done. They said they had about a 6 week lag time & that they'd try to slip me in, so rather than make an appointment, I opted to wait for a call.

Having not received a call, I decided to call them today only to find that their service dept has moved to Calabasas & Alan no longer works there. Argh.

Is there anywhere in Los Angeles to get a Lotus serviced?
How is the Calabasas location for service?

Of all the cities NOT to have a full service dealership....

I hadn't. Thanks for pointing it out.

On the plus side, Calabasas is letting me drop my car off on Sunday.

I'll agree. Sergio seems great to work with. I can't say much about the rest of the staff. I arranged a weekend drop-off and weekend pickup as Calabasas is too far away for me to get there during the week. On both the drop-off and the pickup, no one knew what was going on. As a matter of fact, after driving all the way there to pick up my car on Sunday, the paperwork could not be found, so they were not able to release my car... Talk about hours of wasted time.

Sergio made it right this morning, however. I will probably keep them as my main dealer until a real LA dealer makes an appearance. Prior to my conversation with Sergio this morning, that would not have been the case.

One more time!

Qais is back and the Beverly Hills Lotus owners should be very happy!

I am not the kind of person who does his own work on a Lotus. My racing Mazda, yeah.

I needed new brake pads and a check for a rattle in the back of the car that turned out to be a loose upper A-arm.

Went down to Qais’ new shop, SOUTHBAY AUTOHAUS and he did the whole thing for $400.00 in ONE DAY.

That’s right. ONE DAY.

Anywhere else takes a week or more.

The new shop is a small one and they work on other cars besides Lotus.

But there are three people, the two guys in the shop are very well trained mechanics…and then there is Qais himself. When he walks out you know this guy knows more about fixing Lotus cars than anyone in L.A. He has connections with everyone at Lotus if you have a big enough problem.

The location of the shop is 4875 Rosecrans Ave., Hawthorne, California. Their phone number is 310-355-0922.
To get there from Beverly Hills you take La Cienega South to the 405 Freeway south. Get off at Rosecrans and go left 4 blocks. Takes 20 minutes max.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is 5 minutes away and they pick you up and drop you off.

For most work, Qais and his team are a dream.

For warranty work, I recommend Calabasas Lotus.

Qais and the guys are going to put together some drives up at Willow Streets and Willow Springs and some point.

For those of you who were at the SouthBay Lotus closing, you know Qais…this is where you should take your car for most fixes.

They are careful and gentle with the Lotus and they store them inside.

I couldn’t believe the price, the service and how quickly I got the car back.

I went past BH Lotus yesterday and there were still 3 Lotuses (yes, lotuses Tim) in the window. You'd think they'd be outta there by now.

The Lotus cars from Beverly Hills Lotus are all in Lotus Calabasas now. Alot of great service and sales guys went there.

For close by service, as I mentioned above, try Qais at SOUTHBAY AUTOHAUS.

FWIW, I know there is conflicting info about LBH, but one of the guys at Lamborghini of Calabasas (LoC) said the the Beverly Hills location is temporarily closed because of a problem with the building. He claims they will be moving back.

That said, I had such a piss poor experience at LoC that I doubt I'll go back to LBH unless Allen is back there (which seems unlikely).

Well, try Qais (the best Lotus mechanic in the West) for non warranty.

And try Newport Beach Lotus or Thousand Oaks Lotus (which has an amazingly clean and nice service bay) for warranty work.

I would use Qais.

I would call DentWerks and check that that is a full service operation to fix all problems on Lotus cars. It wasn't
a little while ago. I hope Stephen posts here and let's us know about his service.

Qais is at 310-355-0922. One day service available.
