The coming economic collapse will also effect these people.

Me too, I was just down that way yesterday, tons of tourists out, you lose count of the F and L cars ! I did chase down a guy driving around Rodeo in a survivor condition Facel Vega convertible and talked to him for a while. He was shocked that I knew what the car was, I was shocked that he was driving it on the street ! The modern exotics are a dime a dozen. I think you will find a lot of the wealth you see in that area is foreign. Many royal family members from Saudi, Kuwait, Africa live up in the flats. Many years ago I designed a recording studio for a Princess from Africa who lived on N. Rodeo. She had a fleet of different color Rolls, 4 Range rovers and a jet at van nuys airport, full time staff of 5 in the kitchen. Also there are a couple of very high end talent agencies like CAA in town so you see their clients and the agents in their rides. Tons of high end plastic surgeons and lawyers as well

this disgusts me. NONE OF THOSE CARS HAVE FRONT PLATES!?!?!!?!?!? WHy can the rich get away with that in Beverly Hillls, and my poor ass in Venice can't!!!!

WHY MUST THE RICH GET ALL THE BREAKS!!!!!!

COME ON OBAMA..NO FRONT PLATES FOR EVERYONE.....EQUALITY!!!
P.S. I saw a Veryon in that area the other day, I know there is a dealership down the way, i'm assuming it was on some sort of test drive. Even in LA I dont' expect to see anyone DRIVING their Veryon...Veryon? Vayron? Vibratron?

I see what you California residents mean when you say, "Ferraris & Lambos are a dime a dozen." That seems a little sad to me. Seeing that many exotics certainly would lower the uniqueness that should be accompanied by them.

Here in Iowa it is a breath of fresh air to see an exotic. Sort of brightens my day to see one, because they are in fact rare. I don't drive all over the place, but personally have seen 1 ferrari, and 2 lambos. There isn't much better than heading to the store and seeing a purple diablo in your rear view mirror. Even the occasional Viper is awesome.

That's why I can't wait to see how people react when/if I bring a Lotus into the heart of Iowa, land of fwd sedans and pickups/suv's!

What? I have no front plates on any of my cars and I don't live in BH. It is just Venice. That is the only place I have ever got a no front plate ticket. I try not to park there.

This is exactly what I was going to ask. What do these people do besides the movie biz to have so much coin?

How is the landscape biz out that way?? Alot of people in it? Alot of demand?

Seeing a Veyron parallel parked on Robertson happens. I have seen it twice.

Like any other major city, it is a rat race, but there is more cheese.

The difference is in LA compared to other cities (like NYC) is that you need a car to get around because the city is spread out, most people have a garage and the weather is great so you can get more use out of a nice car and it is easier to keep. So basically a perfect recipe for big car culture, which is why a lot of the automotive industry is here.

Wealth seems to be worn more on your sleeve here, for better and for worse

And yes, seeing Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini's are a bit common to see here, but it is made up with occasional sightings of ultra rare cars.

For example, one time I was filling up the Lotus with gas and a guy pulled in with a 1929 Alfa Romeo 8C competitione that had to be worth millions, he was just out for a cruise...

It's ironic that the Guv of CA. is asking the rest of the country for a bailout.
