Who wants to go to the track, lets get some Lotus out there...

....hehe. I want to go to the track, but I'd like it if there were some other people of the board going as well. Last time I was at the track, I was the only Lotus out there, and as a newb, it would have been nice if there was a car/owner or 2 to bounce some questions off of.

So who wants to go to the track.......

NorCal or SoCal? Many options for track days. If you stay with the better known track days you'll have a better chance of seeing 2-3 Lotus.

In NorCal - Hooked On Driving, Trackmasters, Golden Gate Lotus Club, and others...

Cheers,
Kiyoshi

Would 20+ Lotus at Infineon Oct 8, 9 be enough company?
Options for that date are Lotus Challenge Series, Speed Ventures and TrackMasters

I plan on doing lots of events in SoCal. Buttonwillow is the next event, although debated running with the POC at Streets this weekend. Pretty much doing one to two track days per month!

Hi Tom,

I hope to join the LCS sometime in the near future, however 12 years off has made me very rusty ( my driving that is).. I do however hope to come out and get to know everyone at the next event that is a bit closer to SoCal.

We're adding a Novice class next year in LCS ... but if you're doing two tracks days per month, don't think you will be at the Novice level or will get bumped out due to competitive times before long. While LCS is about competition, mostly about having fun.

If Infineon is too far, next LCS opportunity is closer to SoCal: Spring Mountain, Nov. 8, 9. Also concurrent with Lotus West Coast Meet
Events - West Coast Lotus Meet November 5-7, 2009 in Las Vegas

WAHOO, ok I'm in SoCal. I'm currently unemployed, so I can go to any and all track days. I did Streets this past Friday....Oct sounds doable too, it all sounds doable.

How can I find out more about the LCS Novice class, it sounds perfect. Track days are fun, but I wouldn't mind actually getting some "times" in the book, have something to shoot for, etc..

I'm all in, what do I have to do? :-D

Rackhenry, is this the event at Buttonwillow you are going to?

My goal would be to get up to speed and start with LCS Time Trials sometime next year. Although having a novice class seems like a great idea to get more participation! The main reason I have not been to any events at LCS is the fact that it (on the surface) seems a bit intimidating so someone either fairly new or restarting and no entry level class.

To get started with LCS, check out rules at
Lotus Challenge Series
as that covers what is required to participate, e.g.,
6 track days of experience,
4 point harness,
fire extinguisher, etc.

Sign-up at Lotus Challenge Series or e-mail that info to Jim Lotus Challenge Series

LCS numbers are optional at your 1st event, but by 2nd event get your numbers at: Lotus Challenge Series

Then sign-up for event with the Event Registration link at Lotus Challenge Series

----------

The Novice Class for next year is about easing folks into competition for the time trial, so that Novices compete among themselves until putting down competitive times for their car class.

As long as you have the 6 track days of experience and somewhat up to speed, fine to come out and use LCS as track day, learn from others, take some instruction if you like, get some rides, and join in the time trial when ready. Check out the wheel to wheel racing and see if that is of interest.

Send me a PM or contact others listed on the LCS web site, if you have questions.

In that case, consider coming out to Infineon Oct 8, 9 to meet and greet the LCS crowd, but run in a beginners or intermediate group with either
Speed Ventures - Track Events for Everyone! or
TrackMasters Racing
(Speed Ventures runs a lot of SoCal tracks, Track Masters is more NorCal.)

As LCS will have only 1 run group at this Infineon event, more difficult for us to accommodate novices. However, at our next event on Nov 8, 9 at Spring Mountain, we have 2 runs groups, so easier for "newbies" (marginal on 6 track days of experience) to join our "intermediate" run group, get additional help from other members, i.e., newbie as passenger in advanced session with experienced driver, newbie takes an experienced passenger or professional instructor. This Spring Mountain event is concurrent with West Coast Lotus Meet and we share the track on Nov 8 and their "intermediate" run group can take 1st timers Events - West Coast Lotus Meet November 5-7, 2009 in Las Vegas
