It's good for diagnosing future head gasket issues.

the oil test gives me an idea if I should go longer on oil change intervals with amsoil 0w30 or stick w/5K miles etc... Also potential problems like coolant in the engine or dirt and general wear of the engine. also if the oil stays within the same viscosity

Actually, just about any large organization with a fleet of vehicles has this done on a regular basis. It's a good idea as it can spot problems long before there actually is much of a problem. Given how much Kortik cares for his Matrix and the miles that he puts on it (nearly 100k at this point) I think its a good idea. Especially for someone that wants to keep the current car for a long time.

I should probably do this for my track car.

I think oil testing is conceptually interesting and (if you've trying to maintain a fleet of 1000 trucks, it can save huge amounts of money), but in our case I'm not sure there's really all that much value in doing it. It's a Toyota motor (kinda, sorta). Just go beat on it and don't worry so much. Plus, it's cheap, so you can always buy another one without breaking the bank. Still, thanks for sharing this.

no problem.
well I decided to boost my 2zz on my matrix
it sure healthy and wear is minimal.
but I will be changing to Castrol Synthetic Edge oil 5w30 and do shorter intervals.
my last Amsoil 0w30 SSO oil will be changed at 10k miles and then will be sent to Lab for the test to find out whats up.

I've been wanting to do this for a while, interesting to see how personalized their interpretations are. I expected a machine printout with no human interaction.

I had the oil analyzed the last time I changed it in my Elise. Syntec 5w-40 sheared out of grade (down to a 30 weight) in about 1000mi with 300 track miles. There was no coolant contamination or fuel dilution.

I see value in knowing this as it leads me to believe that the Syntec is not robust enough for my use. I'm trying Valvoline Synpower 5w-40 next, and will perform a similar analysis to see which performs better.

First let me say that this is not a bad rap on Blackstone....
It is what it is and I did notify Blackstone about this. Oil testing is a tried and true science....but...

I had my car oil tested twice. Once right before I pulled the cam cover at 18000 miles. And there was nothing unusual noted except for a higher nickel content....which was not deemed alarming to Blackstone.

When I pulled my cam cover, it had worn cams.

Dont know what to say...why....how....or whatever else.

This is just what happaned.....
