Crazy officers. Glad you're enjoying it. Now you just need to hook up with bleu for some track and autoX. I talked to the guy who sold it to you not to long ago, said you bought it while over in Iraq. Tax free purchase?

tax free..... I WISH!! HA. Park Place was really good on the sale but after it they dont return e-mails and it is very hard to get in contact with them. Kind of dissapointed on the after sales customer service but then I am also a one time buyer and my little elise is chump change for those guys.

Went for the first long drive today. Took off out of yelm and went to HWY 7 then to HWY 12. Drove up FS 25 up to mt. saint helens on FS 99. The ride is a little rough on the FS roads but the twisties were a blast. I wasnt even speeding either...... But I didnt slow down for the turns so that made it fun. Ok, Ok...... so I did go a little faster at times. Kept up to a sport bike for about 5 miles and that was fun. I was taking turns faster then I ever imagined and the car did not even hint that I was getting close to it's limits. I really need a big parking lot or something that I can go nuts in and find out what the limits of this car are. So far I am amazed.

I think the next run is shelton to elma on the back roads with some buddies. I have one guy who just got a Sky red line who swears it will destroy the elise. We will just have to see about that. he he.

It gets lots of looks and thumbs up. The occasional screaming teenage gal is really funny. The kids driving their honda with loud pipes just have to rev high right next to me and try to show me how fast they are. I just continue on my way with a giggle.

Well, until the next adventure........

I was probably to busy cussing and swearing trying to fill her up. lol. The fuel cell venting kinda sucks but I have gotten a technique down now so it is much easier. word of advise. Pump slow.

Hello KiowaPilot,

Congratulations. I hope to emulate your success when I get home too.

Did you have any luck finding an overseas sales rep for Lotus? I have checked on a couple of leads without luck. In Okinawa you could order Volvos for CONUS. I was hoping for something like that. So far just the AAFES related car sales. Just wondering if you had any leads. I am in Fallujah now and will get an Elise SC when I get home next year.

Actually, my wife is talking to dealers now. If I can bust lose a better deal from out here then we will.

Its not a volvo, so you'll have to find an exotic car dealer that is willing to work with you. Park Place LTD worked well for Kiawapilot, but they don't cut the military any special deals or anything. When I bought mine from Park Place LTD, they seemed like they really didn't care if I bought the car or not. Not sure if the employees are on an salery or commission, just don't expect any lotus dealer to bend over backwards for you as far as I know.

I did not get any special deals and because it is an exotic getting it through AAFES is not possible.

This is just my opinion so take it for what it is worth. Instead of buying a new elise SC. I would recommend a used elise. 05-06 ish. Here is why. New elise SC is somewhere around 60K. You will only get about 220 RWHP out of that car when you get it. These cars are driven VERY little by most people so you can find a used elise for around 35K with less that 10K miles easily. Mine only had 4K on it when I got it. Then you can install a VF 260HP/BWR 225HP/katana 220HP supercharger and get essentially the same car for 20K less than the new one and the engine is already broke in for ya.

I went through Park Place LTD here in washington. Park Place Ltd - Exotic Car Dealer
They knocked about 2,000 off the car but that was about it. Tax free is probably not going to happen so I would look for a dealer within 1,000 miles of you and use them.

Interceptor, I plan to stop by tomorrow and check out the new ride. See you then.

Hey!!!??? How did you get my car? lol. They are Identical. It would be funny to meet in a parking lot. I would probably be getting all pissed off because my keyless entry wasn't working.
