Saturday 15 November!!

Ok, Now the weather channel is forcasting nice weather for saturday the 15th of November. We all know that they are not accurate this far out but it is worth a shot. How would you guys like to get together and go for a drive assuming the weather is good. Probably nothing to long but I will leave that up to the group. The ocean shores drive is nice. I figure the mountains are out due to snow so that leaves us the pennensula. I just drove on a road today that is Beautiful short but beautiful. Great little offshoot with back to back sweepers for a few miles if your heading down Hwy 8 towards Ocean Shores. Anyway. Lets see how much participation we can get. Let me know.

Weather is still forcasted to be good.

C'mon. We need at least a few cars. I will talk to a guy I know here in Yelm and see if he wants to go. He has an esprit turbo. I will plan 2 routes. One will be 3 hours or so long and the other one will be an all day event. I will post them here when I get em done.

Lets put it to a vote.

We can go north. Someone else will have to plan the route.

Or we can go southwest. I-5 south to Hwy 12 west. Hwy 12 to Oakville. S. Bank road to garrard creek road to north river road through brooklyn and vesta all the way to Hwy 101. Hwy 101 north to aberdeen then ocean beach road north to Pacific beach. Then follow 109 southbound to ocean shores and get lunch. Then Hwy 8 back through Olympia to I-5. I figure If we leave by 9 AM we should be able to be back by 3 PM or so.

Someone post a north route then which ever one gets more feedback will be the one to go with.

I'd love to go but my Elise is put away for the winter.

Next summer for sure! or just come to Montana where the roads are better for Euro Sunday!

EuroSunday - Missoula, Montana.

One day I would like to hit hurricane ridge up on the north end of the penensula. I have heard that it is a GREAT drive. It is a long way to go though. Summer time, 101 loop with LOTS of detours.

I lived in P.A. a few years back. Hurricane Ridge is a good drive with a beautiful view on a clear day, but you run out of road all too fast. There are a couple of routes west out of town--Black Diamond Road, then back onto 101 past Lake Crescent is particularly good, especially if the summer tourism traffic has died down a bit. Having said that, once you get going that way, either on 101 or 12 towards Neah Bay, the roads are fun, but it will definitely turn into an all-day affair if you're starting near Seattle or anywhere else on Puget Sound.
Not to mention: watch out for deer.

I had a face off with a seagull today, it strait up glared at me as it defied my car with its pudginess. I swear I could see it shrug when I reved at it.. eventually it walked out of the way.

I was at a gate log cabin community off of HWY 2 this last summer at my Uncles. As I left there was this large black dog (some sort of mix) that liked to chase cars. I was doing about 5-10 so he caught me. And bonked his head on the tire. Then started barking at the car, when he didn't know what to do with a caught car.

I barked back at 8200 RPM. He wimpered and went home. I resumed my 5-10 stroll though his former territory sniff and peeing as I pleased.

I have to admit, the desnorkle really makes things loud at that RPM level.

Seagulls will poo on your car if you're not careful, they are qualified sharpshooting bombers.

They may try all they want. On saturday, when we run as a pack they will fly away scared. Or maybe they will get so caught up in all the nice shiny cars that they will hit a tree. Ok, I just regressed to about 14 years old. lol.

Alright guys. It is wednesday. Tomorrow the skies are forcasted to clear in the afternoon with a low chance of rain on friday. Saturday is forcasted 10% chance of rain and high temps of almost 60 degrees. It is going to be a beautiful day and the roads will be dry. SO, LET'S GO DRIVE!!!! I need to know who is in.

Due to the current lack of participation I am going to talk to a few guys at work who have non-lotus cars to see if they want to join in. I would love to see 4 or more cars. Sorry to the guys up north but due to the lack of feedback the route is south.

This could be one of the last nice days of the year so we need to take advantage of it while we can. I got my kitchen pass............now get your's.
