May be moving to Denver...

I may be starting a new gig in Denver and will work a couple blocks away from the Cherry Creek Mall. Are there any decent and affordable neighborhoods nearby? As far as garage space is concerned, an oversized two car or three car garage is a must have.

Stay away from Highlands Ranch.... They're building some new houses east of Denver with 3-4 car garages, at decent prices, and doesn't look like a covenant. (Ie people calling the HOA on you for curb ramps...)

A 3 or 4 car garage would be nice.

Mike,

The areas directly around Cherry Creek Mall (Cherry Creek North, Belcaro, Polo Club, Bonnie Brae, Washington Park, Denver Country Club, Country Club North) are among the most expensive areas in town. Head a little further east and north and you'll hit the Stapleton development (on the land vacated by the airport authority when they built DIA). It's up around 20th and Syracuse. You'll find new builds at fairly reasonable prices there.

"A Sustainable Community", sounds like a bunch of hippie nonsense to me...

As for Highlands Ranch, I'm pretty sure Demonized just wants to be the only Lotus in the area. I've seen him trolling those parts...

Hey now... I'd love more Lotus around here...

Seriously though, I got a $300 fine for having curb ramps down.

(I'd take off 1.5" of my clam without them)

I'll check out the Stapleton site when I get back from Atlanta. Horrible Internet connection here in the hotel. I'll probably look for a place in the $400-500K price range. That will get you a pretty decent house in Colorado Springs, but I'm not sure how far it will go in Denver.

Looks like there are homes there from the $200-700k range, looks like you'd have plenty of options.

Hi Mike,
I work with Forest City/Stapleton and wanted to give you a few suggestions to help you with your home search.
You can use the Stapleton Price Range Finder to help search for homes by square footage, number of bedrooms and price. It has great maps to help you locate where the builders’ model homes are and where new homes are being sold. Here is the link: http://stapletondenver.com/data/uplo..._Aug_web_0.pdf.

Stapleton also has several builders who fall within the price range you mentioned and can possibly build a three car garage (depending on lot size). Here is their contact information:

• New Town Builders – Town Square Collection – 720.941.0359
• Parkwood – Kentlands – 303.320.4938

Hope this helps you in your search for a home at Stapleton, and if you have any questions, please call 303.382.1800. Stapleton would be a great choice for your new gig – it’s only a few miles from Cherry Creek, close to downtown Denver and there are a lot of parks, restaurants and shops in the area. Happy house hunting! Discover Stapleton | A Sustainable Community Near Downtown Denver
