[AUS] Hill Country Drive Jan 8th
Okay everybody, our last drive was a great success. Seems like monthly is a reasonable frequency for these, so our next will be Jan 8th. Like last time, I'll post to the Ferrari, Viper and Vette boards. Would like to get some Porches and other cars to join us (Noble?)
I polled some of the folks who went last time and will make a couple of changes: * Route and other info will be posted to http://home.austin.rr.com/ferridonmeth/ * I'll buy ~4 FRS radios to loan out. You're encouraged to bring one. * Otherwise it will be basically like last time. Now - where do we want to go? |

I've updated my website with information on our next drive. There are still some problems with my site, but hopefully this will make it easy to find information.

Johnny - If I lived in Houston I'd take any excuse to drive out to the Hill Country too! <grin> Love to have you out. If you look on my website you can see that I've added a tentative schedule for Feb and March. I also recommend doing the March track day - your car will be broken in by then and the track is a short drive from Houston.

Ojas has invited me to join up for the drive. I'll be the guy in the slow-ass TSX.

Thanks for the kind words on your web site Jefferson!
I hope you guys can make the show. I wrote a new song about my Elise called 'Looks Fast For A Reason' and it will be nice to have some people to dedicate it to...

Yes, it's been fun. My wife and I cruised down Memorial Drive all the way into Downtown last night to look at Christmas lights with the top off. We had fun and it was a bit romantic too. Towards the end of the drive, it started to rain, so we parked under a freeway overpass and I installed the softtop for the first time. I didn't get Starshield due to all the horror stories I've heard. I went the X-pel route, but it doesn't have as much coverage as the SS. Do you guys think that coverage is needed on the sill above the rockers? Also, do you think that coverage is needed behind the rear wheels and on the headlight lens? The X-pel kit doesn't cover the front license plate mount, so I'm thinking of getting the "Elise" plate for it. My wife has been so happy with the car, which has been a relief since she's not into driving as much as I am. One thing I noticed last night was how poorly the headlights are aimed. Need to get those adjusted. Just don't know if I want to replace the bulbs at the same time too. I did remove the visors yesterday. |
