[Aus] Hill Country Drive March 12th

Once again we're meeting March 12th for a drive. Route is here http://home.austin.rr.com/ferridonmeth/

Please use this address when mapping our meeting location. It's the same location (cinema across from PF Chang's), but we're using the address for Manuels because it maps correctly. 10201 Jollyville Rd
Austin, TX 78759
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=10201%...759&spn=0.0228

Drawings for FREE swag was graciously donated by Autostrada on this run.

Poker run rules below. Participation is optional.
-5 card stud
-We are using 5 decks
-$20 buy in (first card)
-Subsequent cards are $5 each*
-Participant may fold at anytime
-Trading cards with other participants is NOT allowed
-In the unlikely chance of a tie, participants will draw cards for the pot.

Historically we've had about 30-40 people show up for these drives so the pot can potentially be quite large.

See you all there.

* I won't be able to make change for $20, $50, $100, etc so please bring the correct change.

The weather looks great for Saturday. This may actually motivate a few more to show up this time.

The forecast looks great. Knock on wood the rain stays away.

Check your email. I sent you one about wanting to use your 2-way radios.

As I said at the GTG, if you need a babysitter for your car while your gone, I am more than willing to step up.

We had a great run today. All of the usual folks plus George Gonzaba met us with 3 more Elises from San Antonio - including their Krypton demo. The weather was perfect and we had a few decent runs without traffic. Unfortunately we also learned that the Texas DPS are not fans of the COM. We tried to tell him , but no love.

Unlucky Winner

Ah yes! I was the unlucky winner of the ticket from the Sheriff. Being in the COM is expensive. I miss the anonymity of Saffron Yellow. Looking on the bright side I manage to get the speed reduced to 75 MPH in 55 MPH so that I can take defensive driving. He asked me if I knew how fast I was going and I said “Really fast?” He found that amusing. I was clocked at 104 MPH.

On an even brighter note, take a look at the KG car that George Gonzaba brought. WOW! I thought I’d hate the color but I actually love it. Thanks for bringing it George! It was great meeting all the San Antonio Elise owners too.

Oh by the way, Kurt can drive the hell out of the grocery getter on Lime Creek.

Thanks. Tell that to the ****-talkers that owned the domestics (that never even saw me behind the wheel). Especially the bastard that pulled the hard U-turn that sprayed the chunks of pavement all over some particular S2K's hood.
